CPJ Post game

More of the same honesty we expect every week. Under the previous regime, there was a weekly curiosity as to whether they were even aware of the problems with our team. Not so under this man.

I love this man. He tells it like it is, even after victories, without calling players out like GOL.

I can't believe how drastic a change we went from CCG to CPJ... If you look at Mark Richt, Bobby Bowden, Urban Meyer... they've all got that "air" about them. On one end is Steve Spurrier who pitches a fit at everything and is disappointed with wins, then there's the Chan Gailey types who sit with their arms crossed the whole game and talk about how there is never a bad game...

Then theres Paul Johnson and those coaches mentioned above with that sort of "fatherly" air about them (father as in Dad, not priest)... where they support you no matter what, tell it like it is, and don't fluff anything up to make you feel better.

I've been waiting for a while for a coach like this.

I love this coach, no homo... :greddy2: okay maybe a little

790's lunch show (brandon/wolvie) was all about this clip, and how Richt should be more like Johnson.

I like how he ends this. He said something like "Kicking the ball is atrocious."

That is one of our biggest issues. Yes our defense is not that impressive either, but we NEED a kicker who can kick the ball deep and in bounds on kick offs and be at least 80% within 40 yards.

Sounds like CPJ was using the same logic to stop
MSU's option that other coaches say anout us. He
said something like, you have to be disciplined, play
your assignment, keep your eyes out of the backfield
& watch your assigned position. Maybe even CPJ
doesn't know how to effectively stop this offense.

It's always been obnoxious how Adams has said that CPJ is "too negative" when he's purely honest. He always lays out, unemotionally, how well or poorly we've performed in all aspects of the game - in black and white. It'd be different if he came out after a win and only focused on the things we did poorly.

It seems like maybe he's coming around, but only under the circumstance of looking for a solution to Richt's slipping grip on "Greatest Coach of All Time" status.

I agree. CPJ is honest. He is never so negative to break the player's emotions. Actually, in either last week's or the week before's CPJ Show, he talked about how good of a relationship he has with each of the players. He said he tries to treat them like his kids. He consoles them when they need it and gives 'em a kick in the butt when they need it.

He really knows how to read the players AND the fan base. It's hard enough to do one of the two, but he is great at both. 3 years ago, I would have never thought our program would have turned around and generated as much hope and excitement as it already has. Thanks, CPJ!

How long until this offense becomes self aware?
