CPJ weeding out player(s)

We may indeed need to run off some guys if they aren't doing the job. Did you see this comment by Michael Gilliard, the Valdosta LB, about us? What do you think he's talking about?

Wouldn't that be a reason to come here? If he really saw that, he should come in and get some PT right away..... Onto Mal, If im not mistaken he almost transfered before PJ got here. Something about being homesick. BOR, wasn't this the case after the bowl last year

Please quote your source on that....because that quote has so far been determined to be nothing but internet rumor by clueless UGA posters and has not been put out there by anyone of substance.

Matter of fact, a Scout writer just spoke to Gilliard tonight and he said GT was still a top 3 school for him and he was looking forward to coming back up to Atlanta for the spring game on the 19th...along with Antonio Foster.

Not homesick...he has some family responsibilities that have tugged on him from back in Texas.

Is this the same player who you quoted a while back and got in trouble for?
What are you referring to? You might have me confused with someone else.

I smell a Doggy stirring up trouble. This quote was fabricated.

It is really good to see the new coaching staff drawing a line in the sand and daring these kids to cross it. Its the difference between winning and losing, and with this new found mental toughness, maybe we don't lose at VA or MD last year?? I would be dissappointed if they did not feel they needed to make changes.

I also think this is just the coaching staff trying to challenge a player to step it up. I would be surprised if there aren't 5 to 10 more players that have been equally challenged by the coaching staff. JE is getting the pub because he's in the limelight as a key returner from last year in the backfield.

Step up to the challenge guys, we have the toughest schedule in the ACC next year according to Scout!

The kid would be an idiot to say this even if he thought it which is doubtful. I imagine compared to Valdosta HS, most all the Div 1 defenses looks big and fast.

There's no lil JD (Bback anyway, not Aback) but there is a lil Mal.

i was thinking about the "yeah" guy Lil John, not reallhy a Tech reference, but a little of an ATL reference. from that i extrapolated the name John and someone who carries the ball, and thusly arrived at my errant conclusion

~QED

thanks for correcting me

Supposedly the quote came from one of the writers on the UGA Rivals site. I'm not sure if it was in a story or was posted on their board, but if it was a quote posted by a writer then I'd be more apt to believe it.

who knows what context it was said...but Gilliard has spoken since that alleged quote and stated GT was right at the top with UF and UGA and he was looking forward to his second visit to GT on April 19.

Plus...he did not make his trip to UGA last weekend.

Given how much SEC teams, especially UGA, love to brag about "SEC speed", I have no doubt that quote was fabricated. They already make a habit of visiting our forums posing as idiotic Tech fans to stir up trouble.

Judging by a couple of practice, reports Evans isn't going anywhere. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't expect a guy who's on his way out to give 100% during practice.

I agree. He's probably in the dog house with CPJ right now, but he not on his way out, based solely on the last few practice reports I've read.

Just maybe he needed to be brought back down to earth, and he is showing some nads now. CPJ can see that he is a perfect fit for A-back, but he has got to earn it. I think its called coaching, its been awhile since we've seen it on the flats so I'm just guessing...;)

AHHH, so that's what coaching is. I had forgotten what it looks like. :D

Jamal is busting his hump. He got in a knock down drag out fight with Cedric Griffin who is one mean SOB at Monday's practice. Jamal has considered going home for some personal reasons in the past and I think the coaches just let him know get your heart in this or get your ass back to Texas.

I think they lit a fire under "Thumper". Inside word is Cedric got the same message after showing some attitude a bit earlier.

These coaches may not be the best in the world (we will see) but they sure as hell don't put up with no crap.

Go Jackets!

Thank, Jerry. Your report was actually one I was referring to. It's good to see so many reports coming out this year.
