How were the Southern fans around you? They were a friendly group to me. Hope we keep playing them and other GA universities often.

Very nice fans around the tailgate, in the stadium and even in the restaurant after the game. They are a regional school very proud of their university and pleased GT gives them a chance to compete with an in-state school from a power five conference. They compete well. I wish the Eagles success.

I was surrounded by GS fans because the Tech season ticket holders sold them their tickets. I was expecting the worst but they were the best visiting fans we've had this season. They even brought their eagle up into our section for the kids to pet and take pictures.

Idiotic to schedule 2 teams like mercer & gsu in same year at home.

Hence, GTAA does it.

GSU is exactly the kind of school we should be scheduling at home. Mercer is just a cupcake, it doesn't really matter who they are. Cupcakes will always be home games.

???
Lose to GSU, you're a joke.
Beat GSU, you beat a cupcake.

They are an instate school with a decent draw that we should be able to consistently beat but that is more interesting/exciting than a pure cupcake.

We need games where we are the favorite. A win is a win; you need six of them to make a bowl game. Not every game needs to be one that we need to prove ourselves in.

I disagree. If we are going to play a cupcake, I don't want to play a GaSou or North Dakota State. Give me Savannah State or Kennesaw State or some crap if you want a local draw.

GSU has a reasonable shot at beating okay FBS teams (see GT 2014, UGA 2015, UF 2013)

They aren't FCS anymore and if they beat us, we aren't going to a bowl and need to reassess our program as both UGA and UF did.

But watching games against Savannah state or Kennesaw state is awful. Just typing their names is putting me to sleep. That's not a game that's a practice.

Ga So gives you a game. Yes, they can beat you if you're not careful or ready for them. That's what makes it fun.

They are good enough to keep it interesting but bad enough that we should win.

Best OOC schedule imo:
1 cupcake, 1 GT Favorites, 1 toss up, 1 GT Underdog

Also, there are a lot more people connections to Ga So due to transfer students to Tech than at those other schools.

If you want a game that counts, I'd rather play a real game that's worth national respect -- ND, USCw, UT, etc.

That's the tossup game. I think this is a good bellwether for our program. Talent wise, we should beat them every time and it tells us where we stand. If the GTAA has half of a brain, it will be a home game and will bring revenue. There is an advantage to playing lesser teams with large Atlanta alumni bases. Do you prefer MTSU?

Sure as one of our OOC games... but we have 4. Do you want all 4 OOC games to be against top schools?

Does losing to UGA 6/7 years earn us any national respect? I don't think we should not play them, just saying that playing big name schools is not worth national respect. You have to win the games too. Even if we split it and won 2/4 games, that puts us on pretty thin ice for the ACC schedule.

I overheard a "blonde" girl ask if the bird that came through the club section was a vulture or hawk. It was a bald eagle. I don't know about Georgia Southern, but f'n' 'Merica. F'n 'Merica..

Yeah when we found out about the uga score all the southern fans around us started cheering with us. So hard to get mad at that kind of crowd.

The tailgate was 60% southern fans that were perfectoption's friends. Very nice people.

Now had we lost, they might not have seemed as pleasant but that is normal.

Their women are hot. Like 5 times better talent than any other skirts I've seen prancing around campus wearing opposition colors.
