yes, i wouldn't mind it either. Its not an official decision however, but he is a strong candidate and frankly I think he may get the job if offered (not sure if he has been offered yet....)

The one issue is his jumping ship every year.
 
He had one of the best defenses, at UGAy, that I have seen. I was glad when he left.

I heard he was a disaster at GA So. I don't know why he was so bad but I guess some guys aren't cut out for HC...
 
Van Gorder would be a solid pickup if Tenuta leaves, but why wouldn't Van Gorder just go to Arkansas with Petrino?

He ruined an excellent team. He tried to make GSU a passing team, when they aren't. CH knows that GSU is a runner, even though he prefers the air raid offense. He let them run the ball, and they led the SoCon in rushing IIRC. Again, VG didn't know how to utilize weapons

he may; Unless he just doesn't want to go to arkansas and wants to stay here.

hmmm....he was run out of town for not doing well from what I understand. Yes he left....but its b/c he stunk up the joint and was run out of town. They don't like him period...not b/c he left as much as he ruined the program for 2ish years.

I think it was a combination of both. A lot of Southern fans didn't like him even before he went 3-8, and the rest were pissed when he took off.

How firm is the rumor? Andy Mccollum is an very very interesting candidate. Hometown boy from Marietta. Great recruiter.
 
Paul Johnson would hire VanGorder just to be able to FIRE him.

BVG HAS NO chance at ever coaching with PJ, Johnson hates the guy.

He coached the worst season in school history over at GSU, then he trashed the option and said how dated and useless it was.

Wofford goes to the playoffs, Navy gets a bowl game, and BVG sits on a 3 win season :laugher:

The man is an idiot.
 
biography of Andy Mccollum. At one time was a hot coaching prospect with success at MTSU. Ran on some tough times and had recruited well. Coach following him profited from his recruiting. Has had success as a Dcoordinator and recognized as a great recruiter. Is from Marietta and familiar with recruiting the Atlanta area. I think he would be a good stealth pick if we do not keep JT or he moves on. Biography below..
