FSU won a national championship several years into Dabo's tenure. They were actually worse in the several years leading up to Dabo's first full year than they've been for most of his time there. It's really just been the last 4 years or so that FSU has been in decline, which has certainly made it easier for Clemson in that time frame, but Dabo already had them on the cusp of greatness before that happened.

We have won 3/4 against FSU

Anyway, send guy from cow town to Atlanta and amaze everyone. We can walk to MB stadium if so inclined.

FSU was very good or great most of his tenure. He took over in 2008 but full-time in 2009. I forget when Jimbo got there but FSU under Fisher was great. They won the NC in 2013. Made the playoffs after going undefeated in 2014. Fisher owned FL when FL owned the SEC east.

I think you could say Dabo has gone from good to great since he has had Venables. He is legendary with Venables there like Bowden was in Mickey Andrews best days. I would love to see Clemson without Venables but it might not happen for a long while.

Not sure of your point. If you think FSU has not had Clemson talent you are wrong. FSU has recruited very well and has put more players in the NFL than Clemson almost every year. Clemson has had two great QBs...and Venables.

Jimbo took them off the cliff a couple years ago, but FSU has been REALLY good for most of Dabo's tenure. It wasn't that long ago that FSU won the national championship, and several years back I remember watching FSU throttle Clemson 51-14 before Clemson had turned the corner. Those tables have completely turned.

Also, FSU still has elite talent. Not just good, but elite. 5* players all over the field, they're just poorly coached and a ööööty team. But yeah, it doesn't hurt that there hasn't been another legit top 10-15 team in the ACC for a few years.

Holy cow y'all are missing the point. GT98 says this : (bolded)
I simply disagree, and clearly state that FSU should have as much or more talent and that FSU imploded the timing of which has benefitted Dabo tremendously.

Now I got tards arguing Im wrong and FSU is stacked with 5* talent. Well duh, they should be. Thats exactly my point.

Then I got tards arguing Im wrong because they collapsed not at the very beginning of Dabos tenure but during it. Well duh, but isnt that almost exactly at the same time Clemson elevated to the next level, no? Isnt that exactly when they started winning national championships? Thats exactly the point.

I'll go ahead and make another crazy statement that everyone will probably argue with me while actually making my point. UGA is currently riding a wave of success that is largely due to the collapse of Florida and to a lesser extent the rest of the SEC east and to a lesser extent Auburn.

If everyone is missing the point, maybe you made no point. I have no clue what your point was intended to be.

Absolutely. Sometimes that is true. And sometimes people dont even finish reading the post much less thinking about it before they argue. It is message board nature.

Your point (pretty sure it was your point) is the best counterpoint to my post. My main point, as evidenced by it following "i have one nitpick" was that clemson should not have better talent than FSU. But i did reference FSU falling apart.

FSU as we all know set the standard under Bowden. He had a Saban-like run of undefeated and one loss seasons. Then that stopped in the early 2000s. You make the point that they won a mnc after dabo started, true. But iiuc there was still a big underlying dumpster fire (by fsu standards), which Jimbo fled. I will accept counter opinions, but imho FSU won in spite of serious underlying issues. They started roughly six years before Dabo, and they got worse roughly six years after Dabo.

If you want to argue neither of those are "about" when Dabo started, that is fine by me.

I'm not necessarily arguing with you, but damn it would be nice to win a national championship amidst an underlying dumpster fire.

The dumpster fire won 29 games in a row.

I looked it up. When Jimbo took over, he won 10, 9, 12, 14, 13, 10, and 10 games. I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with the dumpster fire thing.

Things started going downhill in 2016 (they still won 10 games) IMO due to Jimbo losing the team during the Jameis era, and then FSU was bad in 2017. There were a lot of very, very good FSU teams before that. It's not like Clemson rose to prominence amidst a void of competition. That is a recent development.

Well your point was weak. As I and others have pointed out, FSU's decline came after Clemson was already becoming great. Clemson was playing for a national championship in 2015.

Clempsen's rise also coincided with Tech's decline.

Without looking at any data to support this, I think your position is not accurate. FSU won a national title well into Dabos tenure, like 4 or 5 years ago?

I think we've had enough FSU and Clemson for the GT board for now. So y'all STFU

Still not as bad as I was anticipating.
