Dabo Swinney said this about his decision whom to start at quarterback:

"I've got enough to deal with," Swinney said. "I wish I had Tim Tebow. It would make my job a lot easier."

Am I the only one who thinks that this is a really stupid comment? Obviously its no secret that Tebow is a better QB, but should a head coach go on record saying that he wishes he had better players? Maybe I'm overreacting but I wouldn't want my kid to go play for him if he was going to say this kind of crap.

No, you're right. Obviously, every coach would love to have one of the very best college football players of all time on their squad, especially at the QB position. That doesn't mean you say it.

Just another notch in the dumbarse belt for Dabo.

Highly stupid comment to make... Dabo-Dabo don't do that idiot!

(Actually, I'm all for him saying dumb things like that if it ends up helping us on the field :laugher: )

Was this in response to the Clemson QB saying he wished Urban Meyer was his coach?

At least Kiffin supports his players when he's saying stupid stuff.

Dabo- Dead man walking

Not sure the context of this... could it have been more of a knock on Urban Meyer in that Urban wouldn't be nearly as successful without Tebow? Obviously a poor choice of words though.

As a Michigan fan (second to GT) I must remind that pre-Rich Rodriguez, not only did Michigan beat Tebow's squad in the bowl game, they killed them. The final score didn't reflect the 3 or 4 Mike Hart fumbles in the red zone.

Dabo = Retard:laugher:

I believe this quote was not well thought out because he had a date with CJ Spiller and the local cow 10 minutes later...

Funny you made thsi post because when I read that I thought the exact same thing and considered making a post about it. Very dumb comment on his part.

Dabo probably made that comment because of all the hoopla in the media over Steve Spurrier's Tebow-preseason SEC incident, particularly because the incident involved the head coach of his heated in-state rival.

Perhaps making fun of Spurrier's omission? Who knows, that may be drawing too much.

I think you are giving him way to much credit there. Besides, none of his fans would be able to make that stretch away.:laugher:

Maybe he's just saying that selecting a QB would be a lot easier if he had a three year returning starter who's got two national championships and a Heisman Trophy under his belt? (of course I do agree that mentioning that having someone else's QB would make your job easier probably isn't the smartest thing to say no matter the context)

Dabo acts like a doofus but I would too if I could get a 1,2 or 3 year gig for near a mil per year. It would be hard to quit giggling.

Bobby Bowden makes that comment all the time. Have you guys ever seen interviews with him?

He keeps saying he wishes he had Charlie Ward and Chris Weinke again.

If Paul Johnson said he wishes he had Calvin Johnson (they could've been known as Johnson & Johnson and we could've pelted everyone with Q-Tips [I'm kidding]), I don't think I would feel offended. Paul Johnson would never say that though, or if he did it would likely be in a non-offensive way.
