Dan Mullen to UF

Bet there’s a lot of teeth gnashing in Starkville. He took them further than they’d been in a long time. Not an easy place to recruit or compete.

Pretty good hire. It will be interesting to see what he does in a place with the resources that UF has. He's definitely done more at Mississippi State then Florida has done in the same time span, because winning the SEC East really doesn't count for much.

That said....0-2 vs. Georgia Tech and we beat them in the best year of Mississippi State's entire football history.

That means absolutely nothing but any positive factoids are needed in times such as these

Nm. It was Ole Miss which beat us once.

Surprised he left MSU. Not sure this is the brilliant hire they want it to be, even if I like Mullen.

Don't you mean 0-3?

Word is that Frost turned the Gators down, so Mullen may have been their 3rd choice behind Chip and Frost. I still think it could work out for them.

I guess Frost is gonna go to Nebraska, which is a slight bummer that they aren't gonna go 3O, after all.

Shocked that their 3rd choice is this solid to be honest.

Not shocked that Pac10 and Big10 are seen as better destinations than SEC right now.

Alabama isnt just killing college football, they are now killing the SEC.

Outside of us embarassing ourselves, the ACC smoked the SEC again on rivalry weekend.

Of course rumor of Texas AM poaching Jimbo Fisher runs counter. Yet to be seen.

Mississippi State just found out they are definitely SEC bottom dwellers

They already knew it. I dated one. They are absolutely realists. They refer to their state as the landmass.

Yeah I work with an alum. Football relevance was an unexpected blessing, but they knew it wouldn't last forever.

Man I didnt realize Mullen is only 45, he looks much older than that, maybe his hairstyle?

I would have taken Mullen over Frost. Kelly was obviously the guy every school would trade there coach for right now (basically outside of Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, Swinney). But Mullen is proven. He’s a QB whisperer and had some good defenses at MSU as well. You put a few of those teams in the PAC-12 or Big-12 and he would have made some real noise. He competed with an afterthought program during the span where the SECW was unquestioned in its superiority (up until 3 years ago or so).

One of my favorite coaches. Also 2-0. Glad he’ll be a thorn in ugas side.
