Darren Waller suspend for at least a year

These threads always degenerate. I'm not going to go very far with this and get into diagnosing someone I haven't met or the legalization argument. Clearly there are similar addictive substances with more danger that are legal (e.g. alcohol).

Nonetheless, I still cringe when people write off such serious consequences from smoking weed (millions of dollars) as a being "stupid". Clearly some people sabotage their lives for many reasons including stupidity.

But I will leave you this link to consider: http://hightimes.com/medicinal/science/pot-matters-marijuana-use-disorder/

Essential, substance use disorders are defined by criteria that boil down to one thing: substance is messing up your life but you still use it.

As we've seen with the opioid epidemic, failure to treat it as a medical illness has not helped anyone stop. Just because weed isn't killing people and most users don't become addicted does not mean there aren't people who need help.
