Dawg-Jacket Comparison

Non .. it was not that long ago they envied us
4 short years changes things dont it

I recall a conversation I had in my office about 5-6 years ago with an avid UGA fan and GT detester. He was bemoaning that UGA was stuck with a nothing coach (JD) and GT had a real football coach (GO'L). Remember this was right in the middle of GT's three year run over UGA, and this guy just couldn't bear the fact that UGA was on a losing streak with GT.

I did enjoy sitting around and talking sports with the guy. God rest his soul, he passed away 3-4 years ago, I guess he's happy again with the way the series has turned over the past five seasons. But I'm not /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

amigo, you are bananas

Georgia under St. Richt has won 52 games in 5 years, 2 SEC championships and 3 SEC east titles while beating us and UT a combined 9-1.

Dodd, Ross, Heisman, O'Leary, Curry, Gailey, Pepper, you name it. All of them would sell their souls for that sort of underachievement.

You are completely out of your old gold mind, if you think we're close to them right now. Too much whiskey clear and too many barrels of rum have been partaken by you kindest sir.

The only two things Chan Gailey does well consistently is beat Auburn and get us assigned to third rate bowls. Why certainly, Rev. Richt craves Gailey's undefeated record against the Tigers. I am skeptical that other components of Gailey's tenure at Ma Tech have raised the jealoous ire of Richt.

To make a realistic comparison between Gailey and other coaches, we should look to Amato at NCState. He can beat FSU regularly (sub in Auburn for us), but he can't field a consistent team that plays to its potential on a regular basis.

Sadly for us, Rev. Richt is out of Gailey's league. For starters, Richt can count to four.

Perhaps, I will feel differently about this topic in Year 10 of Gailey's never ending tenure. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/FIREdevil.gif
