Deciding on the new AD

[ QUOTE ]
Clough has a chance to begin to reunite a fractured GT alumni/friends fan base with the hiring of a new AD, and I would expect that he would solicit input from some influential supporters, but based on recent history who knows what might happen. I expect that the august selection committee's input will be pretty much limited to "Yes sir, Dr. Clough, sounds like the right man for the job."

Just curious, want to justify this comment? Who was the last "yes man" hired by committee?

Unfortunately I get the same feeling. One way or the other, I am expecting a big surprise.
In a worst case, the good doctor could make a dramatic point on just how much big time athletics mean to him.

On that point, does anyone know if Cough has the power to hire whomever he wants without needing anyone else's approval?

General Wood,
Since I was accused of being a bad person by others on this board for, as I accept now according to those who vouch for the man, wrongly suggesting a candidate was campaigning for the job---would you mind sharing which of the candidates you got an e-mail from? Perhaps we could start a stingtalk collection.

Ramblin, I'm not agreeing with GTwig, but he didn't say that the committee would hire a 'yes man'. He said that the committee themselves would be 'yes men'.

Good point, PW, Dr. Clough may indeed choose to make a dramatic and politically correct point. I amend my comment about what the august committee may say. It could be "Yes sir, Dr. Clough, sounds like the right woman for the job."

Well isn\'t that special...

sounds like sappy political correctness to me....

I'd love to hear if the student rep is REALLY going to have a voice in the hiring process. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif
