Anybody got a handy dandy list of who decommitted and who has been vocal about transferring?

I'm not sweating any that do, and expected some of this to happen with the coaching change, I'm just curious.

Curiuosity killed the cat--:fingersx::fingersx::fingersx::fingersx::fingersx::fingersx:

If anyone decides to transfer, I don't think it will happen until after spring practice.

TC exactly.

some players will use spring as a trial period...except for maybe one if he decides to transfer due to non-football reasons.

Out of the 13 commitments, I have heard of 2 that are mentioned to be taking visits elsewhere; T. J. Pridemore (FL) and Nick McRae (NCState).

Here's how I see it . . .

. . . if they want to decommit or transfer then to hell with them. We got enough quitters on this team already. I hope to hell some of them take a hike.

I would much rather have people on my team that are committed to Georgia Tech and not a bunch of me first whiners.

Go Jackets!

Not being critical...just think it is worth noting that we have 14 commitments. Tyler Melton can still go anywhere he wants...and has not signed an LOI yet. He will not be official until he begins classes next week. He will then be a member of the 2008 recruiting class.

You have to remember that you're dealing with 17-18 year olds (recruits, that is) who are making a decision that will impact the rest of their lives - when referring to their football careers. It's understandable for them to second-guess their initial decision now that a new coach with a completely different philosophy has been hired. I certainly wish any decommit or transfer well - except when we play them on Saturdays - or Thursdays - or sometimes Mondays. To do otherwise is wrong. Stick out your chest all you want, but our SA's are still kids making really big decisions.

I can see skill position players being impacted the most by a coaching change, and changes in offensive philosophy, but for OL's and DL's the fundamentals of blocking and tackling never change. So it goes back to relationships that have been built during the recruiting process. But you gotta ask, are they coming to play for Georgia Tech, or for _______(coach so & so)?

I think that's too simple a question helluvaparamedic. Yes they should pick a school based on more than the coaching staff, but if you simply can't get along with the coaches why put yourself through it? They need to find a place where both work for them, the academic side and football. With the amount of time they spend with the staff and with the amount of control coaches have on their lives for 4-5 years, it's too easy to suggest that it's all about the school.

A friend goes to church with TJP's father. TJP lost interest in Tech when Tenuta left.

I haven't heard any more since Wommack was hired.

Wow, TJP would be a perfect fit for our needs. That'd be too bad for both of us if he does move on.

If we are going to lose another commit, at least LB is a position we have good numbers at. Even if he "de-commits" (whatever that means) we still have 12 LB's on scholarship next year, and only two will be seniors...and neither of those two is likely to start.

I'm not disagreeing with you Red, but a big MLB would be nice to add for us. Most of our LB's are smaller and quick. We could use a Ray Lewis in the middle.

33jacket is many things, but he is hardly ignorant on this topic judging by his posts over the years....Mike
