Decommits and potential transfers

I do not understand why Tenuta would make a difference. Chances are Pridmore has no real relationship with Tenuta as he does not recruit. T.J.'s recruiter is being retained on the current staff and the Defense, from all reports, is not going to change that much.

This whole situation comes down to does T.J. want to play Full Back at Florida (the position they are recruiting him for) or does he want to play MLB at Tech. IMHO, Florida has no real interest in Pridmore they are just trying to get his buddy Omer Hunter and are trying to work a package deal. Without Hunter, Florida does not even look in Pridemore's direction.

Could we give him a shot at FB, since we need more backs now?

Doesn't one of Tenuta's sons play at U of Buford w/ TJ? Perhaps that is the relationship between the two.

I just checked Buford's 2007 Roster and there are no Tenuta's on the the roster. I think DRad and Tenuta's son play on the same team, however.

Tenuta's oldest just finished his SR. FB campaign at Walton and the youngest was slated to play with my young'un next year in 9th grade.

I'm not disagreeing with you Red, but a big MLB would be nice to add for us. Most of our LB's are smaller and quick. We could use a Ray Lewis in the middle.

I am hoping that either Kyle Jackson, Osahon Tongo (fi he does not end up with his hand down), or Brad Jefferson can plug the middle like Daryl Smith did so well for many years. Shane Bowen is football smart enough...just needs more weight.

Thanks for clearing up my question. I suppose I mixed up DRad's son and Walton with TJ and Buford...silly me!

I would love to have TJ with his speed and size but I agree that we are deep at this position. Sedric should be in the running for some PT as well, but maybe at wheel or mike.

I watched Pridemore quite a bit this year. He is a good player but he is not even the best linebacker on his team. He will need a couople of years of development no matter where he goes.

Go Jackets!

33jacket is many things, but he is hardly ignorant on this topic judging by his posts over the years....Mike

thats ok guys...let the truly ignorant people like gnats weed themselves out.

I would like to meet you nats. Why dont you PM me and we can meet up sometime. Maybe a basketball game or even next year at football.

In person, I would like to see what its really like to meet someone who likes to hide behind his handle and take shots at people for their opinion. PM me anytime.

When are the folks who have academic issues made public?

Hunter decommitted from ND today. Look for both him and Pridemore to commit to Florida after next weekend.

I spoke with Tony Daykin about Pridemore and he was very impressed with his play.

manjano,he is good enough to play, but a FB @ UF is like the TE @ GT....rarely used. He'd be better as a MLB here.......................................................................Tornado,You're right. Hopefully we can pull some "undersized" guys who want to tote the rock as A-backs

never? come on, they have 2 NC when we have 4. If you said ND, ok, but florida? never?

Academics at Tech has been in a transformation in the last decade or so in which process the majors are getting more diverse, non-engineering majors being strengthened and enrollment rising (13000 in 97 vs. 18000 now). With all this, Tech has a big shot in becoming a major football program as well.

Heh, thanks. Wish my wife ever said that. :laugher:

I was hoping to see TJP at DE. We're gonna need some serious DL help in 09. Agree with Red that Tongo will end up there.

I kinda doubt he ever plays FB at FU, I mean UF. Uban Meyer's recruiting promises are substantially similar to my dog's drool.

On our B-Back situation -- with Richard Watson's commit solid we don't seem to need that many more big backs. Dwyer, Kelly, Bray, Watson and Cox is a nice set of big backs and they're very young. Not that we shouldn't take a stud, or Anthony Allen transferring in.
