VT was saying this as justification for why there wasn't a drop-off to our backups and somehow confirming the talent disparity between their players and ours (in their favor). I'm fairly sure Mills, Marshall, and Green would all start at tailback for them right now.

Still against NCAA and team rules, IIRC.
 
College athletic programs have all kinds of rules that forbid things that are not illegal, so the concept of this is not unusual. Also, I believe that states with legal marijuana have minimum age laws, probably 21. So even if they treated it like alcohol and cigarettes, most of the college students are under-age and would be breaking the law.

I'm rooting for Deddrick Mills. It would be a shame to let go off such talent for a stupid rule. I'm not saying to cut him slack or give him privilege but I think the coaches should start giving him extra attention and discipline and keep him. He will be a beast in the next two years. And I'd rather he's a beast while wearing the white and gold.

I think everyone is rooting for him. He has the potential to be a 4 years starter for us and re-write the record books.
