Defensive Line Preview

welcome to the board!

i'm interested in some of the stats you mentioned, but either too lazy or don't have enough time to do the research to get answers for some of the questions that arose.

was wondering about the percentage of lost production that we had losing our 3 DT's...
 
From those three alone, we lose 37 out of 95 tackles for loss (~40%) and 16 out of 34 sacks (~50%). Those are the most significant loss categories that we will need to replace. I dont think that we will completely close that gap, but Robert Hall will step up this year and make some big plays along with both of our starting linebackers.
 
I'm guessing Barnes will rotate in on a situational basis such as third and short where a running play is likely.

He may not be an every-down DT but if he is used somewhat sparingly such that he does not have to pace himself, he is free to unleash 350± pounds of defensive fury - look out.
