Delay of Game on Kickoff?

What's the rule on delay of game on kickoffs? Does the ball have to be kicked before the play clock hits zero? There were two U[sic]GA kicks in a row where the clock hit 0 well before the ball was kicked, so I'm curious.

Nah, just curious what the rule is. Seldom see that happen.

It's really more of a guideline than a rule... DO NOT INTERRUPT ME!
 
I'm also curious about this. I guess maybe the play begins when the kicker begins his motion.
 
SEC Refs are above and beyond criticism, it's the whole speed thing ... :nono:
 
There was a play early on, either on their first or second drive, when they snapped the ball a good two seconds after the play clock reached zero.

The SEC speed fooled the refs and made them think the ball had already been snapped in time.
