feelings from the GTAA?

Obviously everyone is probably disappointed...just looking from a frontline perspective. Its pretty doom and gloom back here.

I'm sure Gailey gave another heart-felt, warm and fuzzy speech reminding the players that the season isn't lost and that they should focus on Clemson that inspired all.

Your funny, do you want them to tank the season though or focus on the next opponent?

I just like perpetuating my vision of Gailey as a nice, jolly guy that everybody likes and is a great person as well, which apparently makes up for his short comings as a coach. He always reminded me of Santa Claus before he lost that weght, especially with his little reading glasses on the sideline.

I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes as it seems you do. But I really got a kick out of your inside account of the very moving and emotional feel good speech he gave after the BC game, so I'm just guessing that he really laid it on thick in the locker room in Charlottesville.

Of course I'm still cheering for the jackets, but I can promise all the fans in section 207 that they don't have to worry about me spewing anymore profanities...I am comfortably numb.

I hope he did exactly that. We still have Georgia to beat.

1. Well first off, we had a pretty good crowd up in C-ville, they stayed in the game even after we got down quickly.

2. Injuries and piling up and I saw a bunch of them come in for treatments today, we may play a few banged up guys too who weren't mentioned as injuries but are definitely feeling the effects of some hits. I don't look for Tashard or Djay to play, Morgan will start and so will Dwyer.

3. I would look for Dwyer's load to be a lot heavier this week, i was suprised we went away from giving him the ball after he was effective, maybe 20-25 carries this week though. No reason he should of only had 15 carries.

4. I think we got in panic mode badly which is disappointing and i guess a reason we went away from Dwyer. We should not be throwing the ball 40 times especially being that ineffective.

5. The OL is worrying me, I think 2 new players get some time this week, I will see how practice goes but my guess is a new guard and tackle will see the field.

6. Our receivers especially Thomas and Smith are getting open, Taylor needs to hit them earlier though, hes hanging on to the ball way too long ala Joey Harrington the first two weeks. Our receivers need to be more consistent though, that Thomas drop was huge. Correy will not be playing and Rashaun might slide into a #3 role, JJ probably will be limited if he even suits up. I would look to see more of Donley on the field.

7. Defense made some nice adjustments after half time, I would look for AT to start for Bowen, he just can make plays Shane cannot.

8. We are missing too many tackles on D, it puzzles me why they consistently arm tackle a big strong back like that.

9. This is a huge game, not only for this season but it could define many things about our future. We will have many recruits on campus, both basketball and football, it would not look good to see a lot of orange in the stadium.

10. My honest prediction- we either win closely or get blown out. I hate to say it but we do not look like a good team right now.

11. There are a lot of grumblings around here and I have read your concerns, I guarantee you Dan has as well and he knows the circumstances. I believe he has a number in mind, he is in total control and not afraid to make moves. He wants to win just like all of us.

12. I have to say this is the first time in awhile I have been disappointed with preparation, we got hit in the mouth in the first quarter and didn't look ready. The emotion on the sidelines wasn't all too easy to find either. I have a sense this team thinks they are really good, but they sure aren't playing with that confidence.

13. I'm disappointed Josh hasn't seen the field much its time to let the boy run loose for a few series a game.

14. Andrew Smith will NOT be returning punts

15. I am frustrated as are all of you, we can make this a successful season but some things need to change with the way the team is acting and the way it is translating to the field. Has he lost control? No but once the team his some adversity they didn't know how to handle it. Some people need to get in these guys faces.

The speech for that game was fitting though, he preached on not letting this game effect the rest of your season. Obviously that didn't work, this week was a different approach. Bring them back down to reality, they aren't a good team right now, we can be and should be but you gotta work for it!

So basically what you are saying demjackets is that if the GTAA hired me to make decisions for Gailey we may be 4-0?

I totally agree w/ you on Dwyer. We went into panic mode waaay too early in the 4th. He was averaging 5 yards a carry and we abandoned him completely.

I agree on Bennett as well regarding him holding on to the ball too long. But he's been making that same mistake for 4 weeks in a row now, he needs to find his confidence in a hurry.

on your point 11. I won't share DRads email with me, needless to say you hit on some of the points and he won't hesitate at all to move on.

on your point 12. This is two weeks in a row of IMO horrible preparation. I don't know why this team thinks they are invincible and better than they are playing?

Just out of curiosity, why would the GTAA make this a big recruiting game? The stadium is half full of orange every year for Clemson, regardless of if we are doing well or not, isn't it? And now, with the way the season has went for each team respectively, it will unfortunately be even worse than usual.

The problem is this team should be good. They are not getting it done, maybe its them maybe its not. Something has to change though. They are confident they are the best team in the conference, where that confidence came from I have no idea. They have to understand though if they dont translate it to the field it means nothing.

The players choose when they want to make official visits, its more when they are available, i dont think anybody would of predicted we would be 2-2 right now. A Clemson game is better then Samford or Army. The atmosphere will still be there and people will be pumped, I just hate knowing many fans wont come now since we lost 2 games which i understand your frustration but that is pathetic to just give up.

Another thing I didnt agree with was playing Tashard at all, obviously he wasnt ready and now will not be ready for this week either after tweaking it again.

Bowen missed a pretty big 3rd down tackle and the guy picked up an extra 10. He had him dead to rights and just let him slip away. We Can NOT miss tackles this week!

Unfortunately, so did Lewis, Wheeler, Johnson, and Oliver!

Your right it wasn't just a few. Most of the team was arm tackling. Shane missed a lot of plays and thats why AT will start, he isn't as good at reading things as Shane is but he will make up for it with his big play ability.

RE: "people giving up is pathetic" YOUR DAMN RIGHT it's pathetic. I hate a quitter!! Everyone here has got to stop complaining, finger-pointing, stating the freaking obvious, and get or ass to Grant Field and help create some emotion the Jackets need. Im coming from NC- bringing 8 people. Guys you have to hate CLEMSON - trully hate these SOB's. Especially that punk-ass Bowden- Talking all that S**t about Tenuta.

Who quit?

I haven't seen any 'quitters' on the Tech squad this year. Some nonpasscatchers, some falsestarters, but no quitters.
