Denzel McCoy Discusses his Medical Condition

Great kid, hope everything works out for him - football or no football.

Says he runs 1-1.5 miles a day and lifts for ~1.25 hours a day (high rep instead of heavy).

Sounds like a good kid and he has a great attitude about it.

He'll do well in life and he definitely realizes the value of the Tech degree.

He also says he'll be helping Coach Klein with recruiting, which it sounds like he'll be very good at.

Damn, it's horrible that such a talented kid has to deal with that. At least he's got a full ride to a quality school.

Not his physician, but he probably has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. It is fairly common reason for sudden death in young people, especially athletes. The heart muscle grows too thick, and also in disarray, so people are prone to arrhythmias, especially ventricular tachycardia.

Here is another link to it as well. http://people.umass.edu/~excs597k/carpenter/sdathlete.htm
