Thoughts?

There are only 9 Starters coming back for 2008, but I think we'll be in great shape with these recruiting classes.

You don't move an all-ACC safety to corner so a career backup can start.

If Notre Dame was tomorrow...Cord Howard would start at RT. He has been getting a lot of PT at OG and also has been practicing at the OT position. Claytor will push at the RT spot until Gardner is done or gets passed by Claytor. Of course, with a potential left-handed starting QB...you get the picture.

I would not be shocked to see Dunmon pass Rhodes...or maybe McManus.

I doubt Oliver can put on the necessary weight to play DT...we have tried for years to get him to 260 without success. Plus..the coaches LOVE Vance Walker.

We will more likely see a combination of Robersion, Word-Daniels, Lewis, and Jones in the defensive backfield than seeing Marius or Gaston starting. With scholarships limited I would not be shocked to see Gaston not return at all...although all reports say that he will as of today. Marius will eventually get there...but the coaches did not have enough confidence in him to prevent moving a safety in Roberson to the CB spot.

I noticed you left Pat Clark off the depth chart...he will be on the 2-deep at either CB or WR.

Interesting to think about at least. I had almost forgotten about Gaston being injured.

Man, we really need to beat ND. They will be breaking in a truckload of new starters.

Thinking about late season games the last 2 years though, 2005 we lost 3 of lat 4 (W was upset at Miami) and this year was 3 straight. We have had all kinds of trouble scoring points in November the last few years. Let's change that fact in 2007.

We will more likely see a combination of Robersion, Word-Daniels, Lewis, and Jones in the defensive backfield

That's unfortunate. We've got to have someone else.

Uhh, this is the worst prediction for a depth chart I've seen. No offense.

First, Byron Ingram will more than likely back-up Taylor if not start next year. The two QB freshman WILL redshirt. Garner will very well transfer.

Where is Reshaun Grant at RB? You are going to make a 5th year senior with his speed ride the bench? He will back-up Choice and play 3rd down specialist in 3rd and medium-long situations.

Bebe will start over Greg Smith. Apparently he is the second best receiver on the team right now besides Calvin. Ask the coaching staff. Greg Smith will back him up.

Right Tackle will be platooned between Cord Howard and Nick Claytor. Our other two lineman will redshirt.

Adam Oliver will platoon between DT and DE depending on the team. He will split time with Walker and MJ/Robo. Derrick Morgan will see time at DE and DT.

LB you have about right.

DB's?? What are you smoking? Gaston is not a starter and like knox said, you don't move your all-acc SS to CB. That's stupid.

Jahi, like his WVU performance or not, will start at one corner. Roberson could see the other corner if he's moved from his safety position. This is the one spot on the field where we could see a redshirt frosh like Marius or a true frosh like Butler, Tarrant, or Everson. That said, I totally expect DJ Donley to get some time at SS or FS depending. I don't see him playing WR for us, and I expect him to probably dethrone DJay Jones at FS. Just a hunch.

Kick returner will be Everson and/or Marius.

on DBs
at this point Marius is not an answer,a true Fr may step in
unfortunately it looks like we've got a BUNCH of average SR guys who will muddle along and leave us with no experience for '08

I've got a feeling that Dwyer will prove to be the 2nd best (maybe THE best) RB on campus by the ND game. Where our dum a$$ coach chooses to use him is a whole 'nother story. Remember a kid named Taylor Bennet?

BOR, did you see who went in for Choice to dispel him for a bit for the Gator Bowl? It wasn't Grant, it was Evans. Evans will be #2, and Grant MIGHT be 3 next year, but it depends on the incoming freshman. Grant's PT in the same was in the slot. I don't even know if he lined up in the backfield.

No-one really knows where Ingram will be. We heard he's been practing well, but that's it. Somehow, you take he's been practicng well, and say he might start. You're starting to sound like Stateline.

Jamaal Evans is not the answer. He's too timid.

I don't disagree, but I have been thinking that Threet has a chance to be the starter with all I've been hearing about him, no disrespect meant at all to Ingram.

I do anticipate that at least one QB will end up transferring (Gardner?) and one will change position - but who might that be? Certainly not Taylor, Manly or Gardner....

Yeah, and you are right about Grant. I suspect he'll have a bigger role next year than this past year, especially if CJ comes out.

That's nice, must make you feel great to name call. It's absolutely embarrassing that we can't even have a conversation without this crap.

You obviously didn't realize Reshaun was playing on 3rd down and long plays. He's the starting back in certain situations. A 3rd down specialist in the mold of Kelvin Bryant for the Redskins in the late 80's.

Evans will still get his carries next year.

And my guess on Ingram is speculation that's based on actual reports.

I think y'all are wrong. I believe the best combination of players will in fact be Lewis at CB with Roberson et al opposite him, and Gaston and Jones at safety with two freshman pushing him hard. Prior to Gaston going down, this is how Tenuta saw it and I bet he goes back to it, particularly since we have some stud safeties coming in.

I also believe that Gardner will move to RT when Bennett wins the job, unless they had Claytor, etc. pencilled in on the right side to begin with.

And Adam Oliver is not moving inside except on passing downs. MJ may move to OLB but Oliver is just too small on the inside. I think Anderson may get a shot here or Walker if he bulks up against the run.

BOR calling a poster stupid because of his prediction for depth chart. Please! What is stupid is predicting RS frosh Marius ..... If you watched at all this year you saw Marius play as a true frosh: think that means next year he'll be a soph.
By the way any of you so called GT fans that didn't show up at the Gator Bowl because of your feelings about Gailey, Nix or any other GT coach should be ashamed of yourselves. GT showed up, put it on the line and deserved our support. Don't need a bunch of self centered, pee and moaners who think they know more about football than our staff. For those in this category, please submit your resume to Dan and let him laugh as much as I do.

From what I can see, Walker unfortunately looks like a career backup because of his size. I'm looking for Oliver to move inside and MJ to take his DE spot.

And is there a chance for Everson to contribute to CB next year? He looked great in his videos, but I've heard his tackling can be suspect.

Ok, time for you to get on the short bus. I never called the poster stupid. I said moving Lewis to CB to play Gaston at SS is stupid considering Lewis is an ALL ACC SS.

As far as not attending the Bowl game, I did not. However I am a 17 year season ticket holder and I probably have donated more money in the last 5 years to the GTAA than you, so shut up. I also buy chair back seats to boot so I can at least support what I think is an idiotic seating plan. I didn't want empty seats ahowing up on TV. And for what its worth, I actually DID submit my resume for OC to Dan Radakovich after the Wake game. I figured any moron with over 80 hours of experience on anything from Tecmo Bowl to College Game Day on Sony Playstation could do better than the joker who was calling those games. He thanked me for my interest and we had a good laugh.

He did. But I doubt he was too impressed with my "player/coach" status for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade football or my domination in the mid 80's of Tecmo Bowl.

Since I have been a season ticket holder for 26 years, have had club seats since day 1(even though I agree with you about the concept) and doubt very seriously you have donated more money in the last 5 years and the last 26 for that matter (whatever that counts for), don't give me this shut up crap. Just keep up your peeing and moaning and don't bother coming to the games next year as it will be the same coach and staff that were at the Gator Bowl.
You are probably one of those guys that set close to me that spends the entire game chastising Gailey/Nix (win or lose) that annoys everyone around him. With supporters like you, we would be better off without you.
