Depth is going to be the issue

Those guys weren't taken instead of OL oldfoggy. They were offered because we had scholies available. Chan either didn't think he needed more OL or decided on an A list and wasn't interested in anyone else.

OK what ever, but answer me this where is the OL depth now?

How do you know what I expected? I expected to see only the best, I did not expect to see quit, I did not expect to see 51-7 x2, I did not expect to see Fresno etc. However, if we had not depended so much on the diamonds in the rough we may not have had the blow outs.

Crap...then I guess you could not have seen Auburn x2, Miami, etc. if you have been disillusioned.:laugher:

All I said was the three kids you names didn't have anything to do with the OL.

Our depth on the OL now is primarily injured. Sounds like some are getting back to speed though so we may see some changes in the rotation in the next couple of weeks.

NCJ, OK what ever. Think about this, if some of the reaches CG had made had been for the OL maybe one of the guys would have been that diamond in the rough maybe another Bill Curry, maybe another Larry or George Morris. Get the picture?

Can we agree that some maybe more than a few of the reaches that CCG made have been short and what you might say was a wasted scholly?

Thanks for joining in Hiver a little late but thats ok. Would you say that the diamonds in the rough helped us win the games you mentioned or did they help us with Ugag X 4?

We got behind the 8-ball in recruiting OL's for a couple of years since Wilson was so anemic. When I watch replays of the games, I still cannot say it is the players as much as preparation sometimes. Sometimes the hole is there for a moment but the back did not hit it...and sometimes the OL blows up...and sometimes the QB drops too deep. I am also concerned about toughness. I have to believe Nix and Coach D have a lot riding on this season with almost everyone being a returning starter.
As far as losses against the Mutts...we have blown up on several areas defensively and offensively...but easily could have won the past two years....tight games. The Mutts have been on a roll. I like where we are headed though...and the consistency of our program and staff...plus some key personnel changes CG made in the offseason is showing big-time in recruiting...so the OL has more help on the way with Gilbert and Claytor. Claytor could step in for Wrotto next year at RT. Because of the instant success of changes made last year...we could see more by CG in the future.

OK hiver, now that we have that straight, it's not CGs fault and the buck did not stop with the head man, the preparation for play did not stop with him. NOTHING stopped with him. I have a question for you was Wilson the boss or CG? Is CG not the boss of anything like preparation for a game?

We are talking about the here and now not the future. CG could get hit by a bus, have another heart attack (heaven forbid) etc. Lets talk about line play, no depth, putting the O in the crapper like we did against ND in the 2nd half.

After 4 years to see NIX/GAILEY go for 3 instead of 7, to see a depleted line, etc. I guess CG is not the boss and responsible for anything.
