Derrick Moore moved on to South Carolina where he is appreciated. The new regime decided their brand of motivation was enough. One of the dumbest moves the athletic department has made since the new group arrived. Moore was legend. Loved Georgia Tech. One would assume we needed to make way for gimmicks and digital marketing geniuses.

My understanding is that he was partially paid by the GTAA and partially paid by FCA.

Another bad take. Why do people think he was underappreciated and pushed out here. That's total BS. We couldn't match the payday he got from USCe. We HAVE NO MONEY!! We're one of the poorest athletic departments in the ACC... which isn't even in the same stratosphere as the SEC. That's another reason Collins likely gets 2 more bites at the apple despite unacceptable results.

Yeah. Collins and DMo go back and Collins appreciates him and spoke highly of him. I’m positive it was a money thing and I think there is a family connection at USC.

Lastly, from a “business” angle it was a good decision. With Lee, Choice and Collins we have the motivation covered; there are other places where we need to spend the money.

I’m sure DMo might make his way back to GT one day.

There is (and was) zero talk about CGC or anyone at GT pushing DMo out, or about DMo leaving because he was un- or even under-appreciated. By every account, DMo got offered a great $$$ deal at USCeast that we couldn't beat and he took it.
