A Bulldog fan just posted on the Hive that Terrance Edwards had performed as well as Recardo Wimbush and that both should make the final cut..
Maybe i missed something..But from what ive seen and heard was that Wimbush was a shoe in due to his great performance so far..But outside of Channel 2 and all the other Bulldog dominated media in this town (Whom have pumped Terrance up at ever turn)..I havent seen Terrance Edwards even come close to making a SERIOUS bid to make the final cut?? The Falcons are down to 65 but will have to get down to like 48 next week...

I know this will just kill all the media in this town when Recardo makes it and Terrance doesnt..But has anybody else seen something ive missed on Edwards????

Reeves has been raving about Edwards. Wimbush had a great 1st game and but did not stand out in the 2nd. I'm not certain how he did last weekend. The coaches have been saying good things about him and I think conventional wisdom has both making the squad.

Wimbush has been in on a lot of tackels on Defense and on Special teams in all 3 games and the Falcons are thin at LB and Reeves has said so..
I dont know about the nice things Coach Reeves said about Edwards but i havent seen him do anything in the 3 games in the litte playing time he has gotten and the Birds are LOADED at WR..

I just read the early version of the Fishwraper on the net and Dan Reeves said they have 8 Wrs and will probably keep 5.....Edwards is listed on the depth chart as the 5th (Or actually last player) on the WR-Z slot and there are 3 other players listed at the other WR position...

I just dont see him making it..

I think Wimbush makes it, but Edwards will make it for another team. I think hell get picked up somewhere. Maybe Quincy can pass to him in Dallas.

JJacket....
If your cut on the final cut from a team its very hard to be picked up by another team as a rookie..Most of the cut guys that are picked up are Veterans whom have a track record in the NFL..Tougher yet for an undrafted rookie..He may go to Canada and play...

CCUJacket..Your probably right..But Terrance Edwards is the longest shot of the remaining 6 that grabs those other 3 spots....

With the lack of talent The Birds have at wr it just didnt make sense the Birds didnt pick up Kelly Campbell last year.Campbell is one of The Vikings top 3 wrs and some think he is only 2nd to Randy Moss..Go figure on the Falcons missing out on Kelly Campbell

I think Edwards makes it. The Falcons just cut Trevor Gaylor (who was on last year's squad). The question will be whether Reeves is willing to cut drafted WRs like Dunbar for non-drafted WRs like Edwards and Farris. Might make you look bad if you cut drafted players for non-drafted. But, he did cut Sutherlin last year. (Who returns kicks for the 49ers).

The real key might be whether Alan Rossum or Dunbar is retained to return kicks.

Terrance Edwards will never make the cut..He would have to beat out 3 more Wrs to make the final 5 He hasnt shown it thus far..As you say he was undrafted and it would be very unlikely...

It will be interesting. Edwards isn't getting a game time but the defensive backs are telling Reeves how hard he is to cover in practice. From what I have been hearing , Wimbush is not a shoe-in.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">There is a numbers issue at both positions. The Falcons have quality and quantity at LB - Brooking, Draft, Stewart, Newman, Overstreet, Russell, Ulmer). Artie Ulmer will likely get the nod over Wimbush at LB because he is a specialist on special teams. In order for Wimbush to make this year's squad, he will have to break through on special teams.

On special teams is where i thought Wimbush has done well..Ive seen him in on several tackles...I dont recall seeing Edwards doing well on special teams...To be undrafted most guys have to break in on special teams..
