Did Nesbitt pratice today?

Here's the article on ESPN. Linked

I doubt CPJ is using any coach-speak as the gameplan for Nesbitt and Shaw would be the same - with very slight variations. I'm confident either is capable of beating Duke. The question now is who will come in after the first string has had their fill at the buffet?

This is an experienced Duke team and they will just not be easy. And we are playing an 18 year old kid. I think we all need to rethink our energy level at this game and help the team along. It's going to be tough.

We need to understand that Ted R. redshirted the last 2.5 classes he had. Cutcliffe knew what he was getting into when he took the job. It will be a fight the first half but after that we will smoke them.

I think Duke is decent team and we shouldn't overlook them. But really are they that much better than the Mississippi State team we smoked with Jaybo at the reins week before last? I don't know if that's the case.

I don't think we should take the game lightly but I don't think the question of who starts at QB is going to be deciding factor.

I think there is a big difference preparing for us if we are playing Josh or Jaybo. Josh's arm is a huge factor. He can attack the entire field with this arm plus he is a bigger threat when things don't go as planned. While Jaybo is better making decisions in the triple option which gives us more big play ability in the option game.

I'm worried about Jaybo:

What happens if we give up points to Duke on their first drive, they kick off to us and we turn it over?

How will Jaybo handle adversity for the first time?

He has not seen the least bit of adversity as a freshman quarterback.

Hopefully, he'll never see any adversity as we win out the rest of our games over the next 3.5 years.

Right, it doesnt change our gameplan much at all, but it may change the defenses focus on us. Its very much a positive that we have two guys who can run this offense very well, and in slightly different ways without changing the fundamentals of it.

With Josh there might be a few more passes, and some deeper routes, but at the core its going to be very close to the same plays.

agree, we will smoke them in the second half.

I really wish Josh was able to play, if only for the snaps. He needs all of them.

Duke is actually much worse in the 1st half than the 2nd. If anything, we get on top early and they claw back.

I promise you CPJ gives Jaybo plenty of adversity in practice each day. Jaybo also went against our first team D for the first 3 weeks of practice. Duke will not give him anything he cannot handle physically or mentally. HE WILL BE PREPARED.

With that said....he is a true freshman so who the hell knows?

After seeing how well Jaybo did against Miss St. I am not too worried.

Easier for a defense to get ready for someone they have seen/have film on, rather than the QB they have absolutely, or almost absolutely, 0 film for.

As I said earlier in the week today would be the decision day for who is starting and it will be Jaybo. If Josh does not practice tomorrow he will not play. He has started running and feels better.

I disagree. Both can beat you with either their arm or their legs. Josh may have a slightly better arm, but Jaybo is not much of a let down from Josh.

I mean this with all disrespect towards dook and its football team - they are dook, we are Georgia Tech. We will win, we will win big.

As long as the ball isn't round and the players aren't flopping without contact (see exhibit A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqPBJ_6y_5A ), then I am not worried at all. This isn't Chan (whom I like as a football coach, just not a college coach), this isn't a slack off team, we aren't looking forward to Gardner-Webb. We win, we win, we win.

I will be in standing in front of you, blocking your view, probably drinking, admiring hot GBI chick while the 4th quarter drags on like the Miss State game did.
