Did O'Leary really cause a player to be injured?

Re: Did O\'Leary really cause a player to be injured?

To me, O'Leary's record speaks for itself. If Baylor wants to be competitive and win more than they lose, then hire him. If they aren't satisfied with 7 to 9 wins a season, then don't hire him, 'cause that's about what he'll give ya.

In the dumps that Baylor football currently finds itself...I'd hire him. He'll brute force them to 7 wins a year. After that, it gets just a wee bit harder to improve.

True Colors,
You need to be aware that there is a small but vocal group of TECH insiders on this board that are mad at Coach O'leary because he didn't kiss their arses. So now they heap mounds of undeserved praise on 'Buck' Gailey before he even coaches a game, and mounds of undeserved criticism of the outstanding job that Coach O'leary did.
Another font nicknamed them Unappreciative Pissants. I have to say I agree with that assessment of them. Keep that in mind when you continue to hear all the sour grapes for Coach O'leary.

Pretty good analysis, Culb. I'm sure GOL learned a little humility from the resume debacle, which ought to make him an even better coach.
Still, I'm happy with our replacement, who won't be tempted, I don't think, by the impulsivity GOL showed in the Vaitekunas episode. Bobby Dodd didn't use intimidation on his boys, and he, not Bryant, or Spurrier, or Lombari, or anyone else, is my ideal football coach.

True Colors,
You need to be aware that there is a small but vocal TECH person on this board that is mad at David Braine because he didn't kiss his arse. So now he heaps mounds of undeserved praise on GOL who won 7 and 1/2 games a year, and mounds of undeserved criticism on a coach that's never coached a game at Tech and has almost 30 years of awesome experience on the college and pro level.

He nicknames others Unappreciative Pissants, but he's describing himself. I have to say I agree with that assessment of him. Keep that in mind when you continue to hear all the sour grapes for Coach Gailey.

GOL's teams never had any type of pass defense. Third and Long was a nightmare for us TECH fans when we were on Defense. A "first and ten" was almost automatic for the other team. All the games GT won from '97 to 2000 were won by Ralph Friedgen's offense in spite of the non-existant defense. This was hard to understand giving that our defense was grand from '89 to '91 when O'Leary was DC for Bobby Ross here at GT.

It is more likely that Chan Gailey will go 13-0 in 2002 than become a "Bill Lewis II" as a certain small but vocal poster on this board would have you to believe.
