Quick question:

I just tried to order the gameplan just for tomorrow and it said I had to have a land based phone line running into my box which I do not. I don't even have a land based phone!

Help?!?!?!?

When I tried 360 a few days ago to watch the UNC game it buffered every 5 seconds so I don't believe that will work either.

You should be able to call and order it that way (maybe for an added convenience charge). The phone line is for ordering from the box.

Oh.

That is sorta what I gathered. Has anyone done this before? I don't get home from work tomorrow until 5'ish and that doesn't leave much time for back-up plans if this doesn't work.

You should be able to call and order it now for tomorrow. At least with Dish you can.

I did it 2 weeks ago to watch my wife's alma mater. It took 5 minutes on the phone and the game was on my tv immediately. FWIW, I do have a phone line connected to my converter box and it still made me call to order the game (apparently can't do one-day gameplan from the remote)

you might also be able to order online if you have an account setup.

You can call DirecTV 24 hours per day to order GamePlan. It is on your tv within moments of hanging up the phone.

According to their website, it's a $5 fee as well to order by phone...just fyi.

Maybe this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm in a hurry... I see the game on DirecTV channel 696 (a comcast station?). Will it not be shown there?

Gameplan the only way to see it?

I spoked to someone at CSNB (415-296-8900)...they have been instructed by ESPN to black out the game in all areas of the country that is not in their natural footprint in California. This means that you will have to order it up for $24 on ESPN GamePlan....even though your DirecTV guide is showing it as being televised on Channel 696.

Not sure what someone in California would want with the GT/MSU game...but whatever.

Blacked out on that channel.
