Targeting late hit after he crosses the goal line. Then a little knee twisting action to be sure.
The U would definitely do it. It's not like the Rev hasn't coached that before.
the late 90s FSU teams of St Bobby-Bowden, anointer of the young apostle, the one known as Rev Richt, were the most brutal head-hunters i have ever witnessed in college football. and successful too, they knocked Joe Ham out of all but one of his four games against them iirc
...looked online and found this article about that awesome game we nearly got em in Tallahassee in 99. it confirms that he got knocked out of at least two of them.
looking back, what a bunch of talent on display!! Weinke, Warrick, Kendra/Dez, JoeHam, Kerry Watkins... good football games!
also, people who think the end of times have come need to go back and look at our records and scores from the past. cuz losing consistently to top10 teams is a pretty constant theme, as it is for all but the highest tier of college programs, and we have had our share of upsets
against FSU, for example, with Joe Hamilton the scores were
1996 GT 3- FSU 49
1997 GT 0- FSU 38
1998 GT 7 - FSU 34
1999 GT 35- FSU 41
so we were "competitive" exactly one of four attempts. why all the butthurt about losing badly to a top10 Clemson? those that think that Tech "should" be consistently in the Top10 seem a bit delusional to me
Hamilton, who was knocked out of the last two games against Florida State, was 22-of-25 for 387 yards and four touchdowns, completing his final 14 passes of the game.
also
The teams produced touchdowns on seven straight series, combining for five in the second quarter alone.
