I am tired of hearing all of the comments from other school's fans saying this offense won't work in the BCS. Spoke w/ a FSU fan today about it. I can take the heat, but really irks me from all these schools that perceive our program as mid level, even considering that we haven't seen too many high powered offenses the past few years from many schools. I am ready for the football season to shut some of these traps up.

It doesn't help the image of successful offenses on lower levels trying to "take it to the next level" when you have bad examples such as the Hawaii debacle vs. UGA last year.

I know, I know its not really comparable and for many good reasons. Its just what people see and thus derive opinions.

We are a mid-level program as far as BCS teams go. Last year we finished in the middle of the pack in an average BCS conference.

My issue is that half the teams calling us mid-level finished there too!

Ands teams which we have not regularly trounced or even beaten.

Sometimes perception is reality. We just need to stop the bellyachin' and go out and prove them all wrong. Until then, all we can do is belly ache which is not very becoming of an organization with class.

We should use that as our slogan for next season and more:

"It won't work in the BCS." Personally, I wouldn't respond to that comment but in fact agree with the rival. You know, work him a little.

If...when...this offense is successful I want a shirt or bumper sticker that says that.

That remains to be seen.

However, you will probably be proved correct.
I was mainly referring to the people trying to draw a parallel between Hawaii and us. Whether or not the offense works we will have better athletes than they do. Their offensive line was a disaster.

Either way I'm confident in my man CPJ.

I don't understand the parallel between Hawaii and us. Hawaii played like the old Spurrier gators. They got pounded against UGA because they're a WAC school.

As for "not working in the BCS", I wasn't aware of anything associated with the BCS working.

I never liked the idea of playing bowl games a month after a team has finished their regular season too. The game referenced above put Hawaii in a terrible position from the get go. Although Ugag is and was the superior team, the only chance Hawaii had of pulling off a Win was to play during the first week of December in a location west of the Rocky Mountains.

I had other arraingments for tomorrow, but the comments I heard today pissed me off to no end today. I am now tailgaiting tomorrow and getting sloshed. I absolutely have to see this offense for myself before the season starts.

Saddly, id say we were below average in an ok conference.

This year, were winning the ACC!

Hawaii never had a chance. The issue with them wasn't their offense, it was that their offense was the only thing they had going for them. They were lucky to beat a bad Washington team, for example. They had some athletes but overall simply didn't have any players. We're much better athletically than they are.

Seriously. Has anyone here ever SEEN Colt Brennan? Their shining star of a quarterback is built like a high school freshman.

Although it was not a true Flexbone Triple Option like CPJ's; Nebraska just a decade ago was destroying people with the triple option, how quickly some forget!

I agree, PJ will bring the MOST out of his players and ALWAYS has. We will AT LEAST get to the conference championship game as long as our QB and FB stay healthy.
