You mean, if he's back and if he's eligible, AND IF HE WINS THE STARTING POSITION. There's no guarantee he starts no matter what we all think we know.

No, I mean if he comes back and eligible he WILL start at safty. If his head is in it, he is the best SS on the team and probably the conference. Not trying to start an argument nor do I have a crystal ball. He is just that good. imo
 
So you've actually seen him play SS in college? No offense but this is what makes fans "fanatics". You know he's that good at something he hasn't done yet?

Oh, and last we heard from the coaches, they were looking at him as a hybrid rover type defender, not a pure SS.

Without a doubt, Donley is the best looking prospect we would have at safety. I think anyone that saw him play in HS. and seen him up close would say that. No rocket science here.

I think what NC is saying is, he will have to earn it.

I for one, am salivating at seeing a Burnett, Donley, Tarrant triple headed combo at safety in the future. This could make a good defense a very good defense in the future, whether in 2008 or 2009.

Our weak link on defense has been at DB, so things could be looking up. I'm confident Giff, will be reloading on the DL after this year (Great start already on the 3 recuits for 09...And, the state of GA. is LOADED at LB this coming year for recruiting, so we could get some better talent in here soon at LB.

Yes, Donley would give us huge boost. Also looking forward to Lockhart and Reid giving us an upgrade at CB.

Nope, never seen him play a down at either SS/Rover or whatever you want to call it in college, and your right I'm a fanatic, and your right 1gt he will have to earn it but, if he doesnt end up being a first round pick at saftey(Rover) I will be shocked....get back to me in a few years and if I'm wrong I'll buy you a beer..

That's kind of my point man. I'm glad you are hyped about DJ, I am as well. But let's not line up his HOF nomination just yet, okay?
