Schools have personel hired primarily for the recruiting of HS athletes? I'm talking about people who are not involved with the day to day coaching jobs.

Absolutely not. It used to be that a HC could have a recruiting coordinator that did nothing but work on recruiting and he would also actively recruit himself.

But the NCAA changed all that and now requires that all recruiters including the recruiting coordinator be involved in actually coaching the kids.

A non coach cannot recruit.

We do have a Director of High School Relations...Butch Brooks. He has done an incredible job. He is not allowed to recruit directly...but he is a heck of a bridge builder.
