Do you guys really think Drad responds to emails personally?

I guarantee he does, at least to some. When I've emailed him I got a response at a time when the office was closed and no one could possibly have answered for him. He also answered one twice, one to tell me he wasn't sure of the answer then again when he tracked it down for me.

Possibly, possibly... I'll have to see how much I like this board by the time baseball season rolls around. I will say the signal to noise ratio is pretty good here. Pretty solid opinions and some good (apparent) inside info. Much better than the Hive, which is full of useless and superfluous threads and posts.

But since you asked for baseball info, there's not really any earth-shattering news I know of to report. I will say that the players seem to like the new staff (Bryan Prince and Tom Kinkelaar), which isn't surprising since both have been around in some capacity in the past few years and have prior relationships with the guys. I've heard lots of good things from the pitchers about working with Kink, especially.

thanks for the info. why no decent SEC mid week games other than Ugag? Auburn seemed to be an obvious pickup this year with us needing more mid week games.

who's the closer this year? Dem jackets is Drad's alter go. Are you Hall in some form or fasion? If so, you and I are going to get along just fine:D

Speaking of that, stay away from THWG. ;)

I do NOT think we should fire Danny Hall. But I won't be terribly sad when he leaves. Now, if we could just get another school to offer him a job....

Yes, it's possible that he responds to some emails personally. But I got a response from him earlier this week to an email I sent Sunday and it could have been from him. And then again, it could have been from a secretary. It was no more than a " thank you for interest and loyalty to GT"-type response and that he couldn't spend any more time with me because he was busy doing the job of finding GT a new coach.

I didn't bother after a couple of years but for a while Chan religiously responded to my emails and I never felt it was canned.
I didn't say it was a canned response. I said it wasn't Chan responding.

I just got a response to an email. While I am sure it was a "canned" response and not sure who sent it, I am thankful he has someone responding to the faithful. I never did get any kind of response from DB.

Surely he doesn't read each one but he sure gives a personal response OR he did with my email last yr re:bball tix.Not "canned" in content.

I'm not DHall, though like basically anyone connected with the baseball program since 1994, I can do a decent DHall impression.

I don't know the reasons for not scheduling any other SEC teams, but as far as Auburn, I'm pretty certain they dropped the series with us a couple of years ago (our last game against them was a victory at Auburn in 2005), and so the reasoning for them is that Auburn just doesn't want any piece of us.

Really? I haven't gone back to look it up but I don't really remember either team owning the series.

Their team hasn't been very strong the past few years. I should say that them "not wanting any piece of us" was more of inferring on my (and others) part; they were the ones who dropped the series though.

he's the ceo of a $40+ million business

In the grand scheme of things, that's not that large.

He has around 28,000 core customers / season ticket holders. Again, that's not that large.

I'm quite confident that he responds to the emails on his own as long as they are civil.

I think his messages are also more personal in nature during times other than these. He has a lot on his plate at this moment. I have had several email back and forths with him prior to this and they were not canned responses at all. And he has forwarded me onto others when I was asking about things that someone else would be responsible for...

I got a canned reply the other day, but it included a "Sorry for the canned reply, I'm swamped" type of caveat.

Dems says he replies personally. I think in most cases that's true.
