Feel the same as I do about this NC State game?
Dangit, I know we have the better team, I know we have the better coaching, I know we're supposed to win by all of the soothsayers, but dadgonnit, something about this game is worrying me more than any game so far. Seems like everybody we play is in one of those HAVE TO win situations and NC St is no different.
Kinda like have a Rattlesnake cornered and he don't want no part of being around us.
Somebody prove me wrong, PLEAZZZZZE.

YELLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I think you're right about the way this game sets up, but I think we win anyway. State won't be easy but I feel good about getting the W.

Welcome to being a Tech fan. Hehe. Every game worries me.

The nice thing about being worried about every game, though, is that you're always excited when you win. :)

the more you win the bigger each game gets, its good to have that feeling than the dread :)

I felt that last week would be the one for us to lose since it meant so much, which is our history. I am concerned about this game but the fact that this team stood so tall last week coming back after that horrific first play makes me believe they have the drive and the will to run the table for the next four games.

I've got a bad feeling about this game

Even worse than usual. Maybe the memories of 2000 are still too fresh in my mind. NCSU is always jacked up for night games in Raleigh. As much as I hate to say it, I think Chuckie the Clown escapes with a W and saves his job one more year.

Romegajacket, no offense but don't ...

You say that about every game we play or do I have
you confused with someone else?

To answer your question, let there be no mistake, we
can be beaten by NCST this weekend if we bring
anything other than our A game. We are not the
powerhouse that folks on this board & The Hive
would want you to believe we are.

That being said, I think we win out. Go Jackets!!!!

Maybe the hiv, but not here. This is the home of the experienced and paranoid Tech fan. All for pretty good reason though. The memories of recent past are very hard to keep dormant.

That said, we got off the deck last week like never before in the last 5 years. We won with fundamentals, including the kicking game.

I hope we get up and stay up Saturday night, but this team is good enough to come back, even on the road. There will not be another clemmons.

I prefer to think of us as an electron that has reached the maximum height of the proverbial quantum well when we beat UM. Tough games ahead? Sure! But I don't see any game on the horizon, including UGA, that will keep this GT electron from escaping the quantum well and controlling its own destiny.

I know it's a cardinal sin to look ahead of the next game but this season is shaping up to be the best opportunity we've had in a long time to beat UGA. Their QB situation is not in quasi-steady-state-equilibrium yet and our team is definitely for real this year. I haven't been this excited since the 1990 Championship.

Onward and upward fellow fans!!!

Wow bb, it's not rocket science. :p

Seriously though, I agree with you. It's been years since we've been down in a game that I felt confident that we could come back. It's not quite at the level it was when Godsey was QB when you KNEW everything was okay, but I feel that familiar confidence returning again, and you know the players feel it too. With that confidence comes winning the games you obviously should.

Still it could go either way, and I do have a bit of a "nervous tug" in my belly going into this game.

Lol. Only on a Tech board.

Well don't forget this, while we're still on the quantum metaphor: All quanta exist as probability fields until they are measured directly. While the likelihood of our electron appearing in the "Loss" energy level vs State, UNC, or Duke may indeed be low, it exists in some proportion in all energy states until direct measurement via the scoreboard at 0:00 left in the 4th.

I hate you all :laugher:

I Feel The Way I Did

I feel the way I did after TC put us 2 scores ahead versus the South Beach Playas. Our team celebrated like wild, but the game was not over. I yelled, "The game is not over." I was ignored.

Fortunately, they settled down and closed out the tab.

PS. I can't believe youse guyz got all geeky, and I was not a part of it! Some friends. Wait up.

My contribution: I think it is proven that you can determine how well we play or who we play, but it is impossible to know how well we will play against whom.

We've got physics and philosophy covered...

BTW Techbert, I was saying the same thing after TC's TD. There were still over three minutes left!

Well, about 11,000 fugitives have been rounded up in the last few days. There HAS to be 5 or 6 NCSt players in there somewhere.

Not sure about any Packers but you KNOW a few from Thug U were(and probably a Seminole or 2)

deja vu ?

EVERY game since the ND game, at least one poster on Stingtalk/Hive/Rivals has stated that THAT week's game was the classic "trap" game. However, what played out was that the best team won each game.

After the VT win, the AJC or ESPN(I can't recall) posted a chart of our worst losses during Gailey's tenure, VT last year, Duke, and about 4 others, and every one we beat that team the next year pretty handily. That's giving me pretty good confidence about this game since we lost at home last year and you see the players talking about that. They certainly can beat anyone at any given time but I think the guys will be focused on a little payback and that will pull us through.

All true, my Quantum Mechanics colleague but don't dismiss the notion of discrete energies and the wave like motion of quantum matter. Therefore, there is a probability for this GT electron to tunnel out of the quantum well and land in Jacksonville, even if it doesn't have enough energy initially.

I'm putting my money on our team this season cause I'm a believer. Don't let me down Reggie! :D
