Dominick Blaylock to Tech

Maybe he’ll turn out to be a great player. If he does I’ll happily eat my words. But I’m not nearly as excited as y’all are about another uga cast off coming to Tech. Besides he’s a “dawg for life”

It's just a game, dawg

No real way to know, but at least it's been 2 years since the last ACL...hope he can play through it and get confidence back. Seemed like he had 1 missed catch his entire playing time at UGA, IIRC.
Didn't he play last season?

There’s a lot of kids who come to Tech with some level of affinity for uga since most of them grow up surrounded by mutts. It’s our job to conduct a proper rehabilitation and make him forget that and learn to hate them.

Yes. He tore his ACL in the SEC championship against LSU in 2019 - his Freshman year. He re-tore it just prior to the 2020 season and missed that season completely. The 2021 season they were going to ramp him up slower, but he suffered a hamstring injury early in the season and that delayed his return, so they basically only played him in 4 games so he could redshirt that season. Last year he entered the season the healthiest he had been since his Freshman season, but it was just hard for him to get a ton of reps when you had McConkey getting the most targets from Bennett and also had AD Mitchell, Kearis Jackson, and Rosemy-Jacksaint in the same room.

Dominick Blaylock’s father Mookie played for the Hawks a few years among others. The band Pearl Jam’s original band name was Mookie Blaylock. They had to change their name but called their successful album Ten in honor of Blaylocks uniform number. Beyond all this I think this will be a good transfer for Tech.

I don't get the snark toward the guy. He's a Yellow Jacket now. If he didn't want to do classwork he would have transferred elsewhere. Maybe his injuries have led him to consider the rest of his life and he's making the best decision he knows to make. Whatever the reason, he sees value in the Tech program/degree and is coming to play for the Jackets. Let the past be the past, guys, and welcome our newest team member.

JJ Green I believe developed a love for GT. I remember after a big win on the Flats, he stopped at midfield to talk to someone and when the band, post game, began playing Ramblin Wreck and most of the team had alreaady made it to the Student Section, JJ left his friend and sprinted to the North Stands and jumped up to sit on the railing with his mates and wave his helmet.

I remember when he did that! He was a good representative for GT when he played here.

According to his mother the kid’s coming here for all the right reasons. After his first TD, none of us are gonna care where he came from.

Anyone old enough to remember Quitsey knows what wrong looks like. If it wasn’t for his impressive COFH win percentage I’d be cursing him every time I heard his name.

Blaylock will no doubt “mark his territory” on 11/25. Yellow Jackets fans will rejoice!
