Don't buy the hype

On paper, there's just not enough data one way or the other. It's hard to REALLY know how good GT and Miami are because we also have no idea how good Clemson and FSU really are. Tentatively, I see a barn. Biurner with both teams scoring bunches of points, but don't quote me on that.

All that said, I will say the intangibles are going heavily in GT's favor. Miami, players and fans, are wayyyy too coky considering their accomplishments so far. The player comments remind me of Taykor Bennet's comment after losing to BC, "We'll see them again in JAX." Those type of comments always seem to bite team's in the ass down the road.

I think the Miami fans are more "cracky" than "coky".
 
I think the reason many people, including myself, are iffy about this game is because we haven't won our 3 first games for quite some time now. As GT fans, we have learned to "prepare ourselves for the loss." Whenever we are on a roll, as GT fans, we have been trained to expect a let-down. And by going into this game with bad vibes, many people are subconsciously preparing themselves for the hiccup.

Just my mini-psychoanalysis of us GT fans who are worried about tonight.

Yeah, the letdown is not as bad if you prepare yourself for it. I usually start there but by gametime, I've convinced myself we are going to kick ass. I had some long nights during the Gailey years because of this.

wow, you are right---Only six times since Dodd's last season have we started 3-0. 1966, 1967, 1970, 1990, 2001, and 2005. That stinks.
Six times in forty-three events.
 
LSU came to play us after getting beat down by Ole Miss 31-10. That's alot like our 2nd half vs Clemson. If we do something different on the D-Line and get some pressure we'll blow Miami out again.

I think this is right on the money. The last time I got really pumped about a potential 3-0 was in 2007, and then we got spanked by BC and Matt Ryan on national TV. That one really hurt.

I BELIEVE in this team and I BELIEVE in CPJ. Something, however, keeps nagging at me, this game in particular.
 
Every game is a toss up!

Regardless of what happens tonight, you will have the same uncertainty when we line up next week to play UNC. This is why we play the games. You never know what is going to happen. You just have to hope our guys give their very best effort and hope that is good enough to win.

No, there will be considerably less uncertainty if we go out tonight and dominate---especially defensively. UNC appears to be regressing with their offense. If we were to go out tonight and hold Miami to 14 points and less than 250 yards total offense, pick off two or three passes, etc., etc., I would feel very confident with UNC coming to town. I am very confident on our chances of being 4-0 by October 1 as it is. Dodging the Clempsen bullet may turn out to be the game that makes our season.
