@Duke 12:30 Raycom

Also talking about dropping golf channel and several others. Not a fan of direct tv but may be time to check out their streaming service

Only channel that they don’t have that I am aware of is NFL Network. Very puzzling, since they had the NFL Sunday Ticket exclusivity for so long.

Tech has not won at Duke since 2013. :ugh:

That's why I asked where he lived. If you don't live in the Raycom footprint, you don't get the game on an RSN.

But you should be able to get it on the ESPN app.
The burden should be on the ACC's Central Office to consider more than just the Carolinas & Virginia when negotiating a Media Rights\TV Deal.

Fla & Ga is loaded with HS FB & MBB Talent, maybe with a better TV Deal, the Member Schools of the ACC, could get more Talent out of GA & FLA HSs and close the gap between us and the SEC & B1G Ten.

When your Games are harder to find on TV a Recruit with SEC or B1G Ten options will eliminate the ACC School most of the time.

Our ACC Central Office acts as if this Conference is on the FCS level , except when it pertains to the Tobacco Road Mafia Basketball Teams.

I couldn’t agree more. Swofford killed ACC football. Maybe the new guy can turn it around. Put it this way, my cable company down here in South Georgia just got the ACC network the week before the season started. I still haven’t put the channel number to memory and I’m a born and raised ACC guy. Meanwhile, I know without thinking that 830, 831, and 834 are the ESPN’s and SEC.

Recruits down here probably don’t even know they have the ACC network because the channel is mixed in with channels no one watches. It’s just sad having to watch the SEC admins make every smart move and the ACC does nothing.

I've said for years that our lack of exposure hurts recruiting. I'm in middle ga and have to work to watch a lot of our games. The dwags are on half the radio stations for 12 hours on game days and easy to find on tv. The recruits see that and they want to be part of it.
We play a top ten team (in a close game) and it's on 4 different channels. They don't do that to sec teams.

Some of the SEC games are on RSNs as well, aren't they? I assume that part of negotiating a TV deal is including as many different TV networks as possible.

Every game can't be broadcast on ESPN / ABC / ACCN. You get that, right? So you need RSNs to increase exposure.

Maybe when we have multiple channels of ACCN we can forgo the RSNs, but that isn't happening any time soon I'm sure.

I am not sure about the SEC using RSNs, have no idea at all

With the SEC (my guesses are below):

Game #1 is on CBS at 3:30pm unless they get the ABC 8pm, never seen the SEC on at that Time (could be wrong), on occasion like twice per yr they will have a CBS SEC 8pm Game, usually reserved for Spec Games like Bama vs LSU or uga vs Auburn

Game#2 is a 7:30 or 7:45 ESPN Game

Game #3 is 4pm SECN

Game #4 is 3:30 ESPN2 or ESPNU

Game #5 is Noon ESPN or ESPN2

Game# 6 is 8pm SECN

Game# 7 is Noon SECN

That list above is off the Top of my head, but most weeks that is how it plays out assuming no bye weeks , almost all SEC Games are in an easy to find TV Slot, and slots are based on the TV draw- Media attention surrounding the Game.

To summarize, the SEC is run like the NFL (best Sports League on the Planet), while the ACC is run like the WNBA.

We need to stop looking for an "academic fit" Conference wise and instead we should look for a FB Fit .

The SEC is number#1 because they think FB first, while the pretenders are thinking about Olympic Sports, Academic Fit, and every other obtuse variable they can find to prevent them from challenging SEC FB on a Conference level

I'm ok with this just as long as Ron Cherry is head ref... Oh wait, he retired didn't he? Well crap. I wanted to see another " #69 , giving him the business" call LOL.

I do not believe that any SEC games are on ABC, unless they are playing an ACC team. The only difference I see is that we have a game or two each week on an RSN, and that SECN has a wider coverage than ACCN. But I expect that to even out in a few years as ESPN renegotiates its deals with the cable cos.

I have noticed our broadcast starts not too long before the games. Maybe GT should get a group of guys who know a ton about GT football (whether we're talking about "professionals" or simply just superfans), give them some time to talk to players/coaches, and a room or small corner on the field to use. Let them broadcast for a few hours before the official pregame show, even if they are just streaming. I think having it beats not having it and it would cost almost nothing. I'm sure there are some creative things they could do with it.
