Duke game at Noon

I had to go back and look it up. Seems we are dead even this decade. So I guess we have a 50/50 chance?

2007 - Army - noon
2006 - Miami - 3:30
2005 - Clemson - 3:30
2004 - Duke - noon
2003 - NC State - noon
2002 - Virginia - 3:30
2001 - NC State - 3:30
2000 - Wake - noon

They've put the homecoming game at noon for the past few years, thus ruining the parade and making all the fun of homecoming happen before I'm even functioning at a marginal level. I'd rather that game not get televised, so we can have a proper homecoming.

Way, way back in the days when only one or two games were broadcast on ABC, every game started at 1:00 PM.

What's all the fuss about 12 PM? What am I missing?

Clapper and Mover,

Guys, please take better care of your livers, we want
you around for a lot longer!

I just finished peeling a tendedrloin and cutting it into filets, next step is to wrap with bacon, pin with a toothpick, and marinate in a red wine sauce overnight.

Gotta go!

You left this out:

Throw away the toothpick
Throw away the bacon
Throw away the tenderloin
Drink the sauce

:)

Tailgates.

Yeah, but didn't people tailgate before they started moving games around to space them for TV? (Rhetorical question)

The point is noon is closer to the old normal starting time than late afternoon. (LSU had the tradition of night games, so they complain when a game is moved to the afternoon for TV.)

Back in the day, most all the east coast and midwest games were played at the same time and only west coast games were later.

Hopefully the Clemson game will atleast be on Raycom.

Is the ESPN/ABC schedule set in stone? Could there possible be any changes to it?

Unless Clemson goes and loses 2 more before they play us, that will be a 3:30 ESPN game.

beej67,
speculating

You think there's any possibility at all of it being a night game? If ABC uses that option you guys were talking about, Clemson could be top 15 by that time and building up some real midseason MNC steam like they tend to do(don't forget the media loved them preseason) and we could be ranked depending on if some of the 20-25 ranked teams lose.
