Duke takeaways

We are getting what most asked for. What changed in the off season beyond bringing in another DC so as the “leader” could distract remaining fans to not focus on what was really Not going on. New unis, & lockers? Funny.

Paul Johnson is our teams leader. Second or third best coach in GT history.
I'm a CPJ fan in general, but no way in heck he's our second best coach ever. That's insane. I can only imagine you know nothing of GT football history for the first 50% of its existence.

4 out of 5 losses to Duke! 7 times the ball on the ground! Post game interview coach said we are not good fundamentally! Need I say more! The time has passed. Todd just do the right thing!

I said or third.....

1) TQM looked injured early. Held his left arm after every hit. Probably had the shoulder injury from the start. He has poor fundamentals, this was a regression game.
2) OL. Why does one lineman not starting cause us to shift everyone around? It clearly doesn't work and everyone gets confused and starts missing assignments.
3) WRs are pathetic.
4) DL played great.
5) LBs are getting better.
6) secondary needs work still.
7) none of this matters because it's time for the program to change direction at HC. I would like to see Woody retained, but if it means not getting the HC of our choosing, iiwii.

Thank you for making my point for me.
Why would I know who the team's leaders are? Why would you? I only go by what the coaches and players say to the public, the people they elect as captains, etc. And whether or not I can identify them, doesn't mean we do or do not actually have leaders.

I get it that you don't like CPJ. But try to realize that's not what we're talking about.

Plus there is this:
How do you not have these fundamental aspects of a football offense in the year 2018?

Quoted from another poster. Football in 2018 is not Heisman football. Different game.

Duke is not a better team, right. 11 years ago GT was 2 TDs better than Duke. Today, Duke is 2 TDs better than GT. Guess what is significant about 11 years.
Paul Johnson is systematically dismantling a storied football program.

I have said nothing about CPJ in this thread, or any today. I don't know why you think that's even tied to talking about team leaders.

Leaders lead. Its been obvious in the seasons we've had them, they improve their entire unit just by their demeanor but also by their actions. They set an example, they set the tone. They fight like hell and overcome adversity. They inspire those around them. Leaders can pick themselves up and those around them.

I think AJ Gray would have been that guy on defense had his career not ended. On offense, the closest I've seen all season is Tobias Oliver when he's been in. Taquon doesn't lead, he doesn't pull the offense together, he's too much in his own head to consider that he's SUPPOSED to be the leader and that his actions and demeanor affect the whole offense.

This offense has been figured out by teams that Tech plays regularly. Whether it is "tells" that give away play calls, poor execution and/or poor recruiting, it's just not going to consistently work against this level of competition (2014 be damned).

Can't expand the playbook because can't get solid, stable year over year stability from QB and OL. It's too much of living on a razor's edge when it comes to execution.

The Vad Lee year was telling. There's just no margin of error or room to tweak without the offense breaking down.

We all learned (other than M Train folks) about stable systems and this offense is not one.

Gotcha: leaders win, and we're not winning, ergo, we have no leaders.

In other words, you have no idea but like to conjecture from the stands... just like the rest of us!

Carry on...

Duke always has a great game plan against us, we actually adjusted well at halftime and then we fumbled the game away.

3 corner blitzes, 3 good results.

Duke shot the backside gap and slow played the pitch read, TQM didn’t have a good response.

TQM checked into some good plays, Duke would adjust, and the results were mixed.

Duke screwups kept us in this game, but we showed them how to really screw up.

J. Graham saw the field. 3 more games max for him. Gotta play him vs UNC and Virginia, then he, T. Oliver, and L. Johnson can duke it out in the spring.

Defense generated pressure, good to see.

K. Oliver had a bad day.

Refs were garbage today.

Our last play on offense was a joke.

That's not what I said, but it's ok, this is all way more than your neanderthal brain could comprehend anyway. Proceed with your grunting and drooling.

I don't think we have to give up on tqm. I think he's still ahead of Oliver. I also git the sense he was beat up, which may have been a contributor.

But, there's been a miss on fundamentals by my eye, and that usually points to position coaches.

Also, malik is the leader on d. O should be tqm.

He's been beat up. He's obviously slow. He gets frustrated and makes horrible reads. He got popped hard on his first play of the game and was hurt. He shouldn't have remained in
