Dust Jacket, you ignorant slut... BEATING UGA IS A MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DustJacket said:
So now you are equating UGA with one of the 3 FL programs??? What a leghumper worshipper you are. In the past 15-20 years UGA is a second tier program when compared to ANY of the FL programs.

I find it amusing that a lot of you guys want the game to mean something on the national scale, but you root for UGA to lose every game.. you can't have it both ways.. whining perpetual UGA victims...

Here I will put it in terms some of you guys can understand:

Khan had the genesis device.. Kirk was defeated.. Khan could have gone anywhere... ;)

Dude, what are you talking about and where do you draw these outlandish conclusions? That's not what I said at all. Read the thread, genius. It was said that UF had nationally Recognized teams in the 90's without owning their state. And I pointed out that in all cases that yes, UF DID have Nationally recognized teams, and in most cases when they didn't own the State they were ranked BEHIND FSU who did own the state. The one year they won the NC, they lost to FSU, but they wouldn't have won it if they didn't score a rematch in the Orange Bowl with FSU and beat them.

1.) For us to be able to be Nationally recognized and NOT own our state, we cannot be losing to an unranked UGA team.

2.) Even if UGA is ranked, and beats us, that still puts us behind them.

What is so hard to understand here?

ACC Championship + Orange Bowl > .500 UGA team.. get over it.

How in the hell does losing to an unranked UGA team enhance Tech's image/ reputation nationally?

DustJacket < Retard

Do you remember FSU last year? Played PSU in the Orange Bowl with a 8-4 record and most people considered them unworthy of the visit? They won the ACC championship and lost the Orange Bowl and were barely ranked at #23 or not at all by every poll. They lost to Florida that year which happened to be ranked.

Don't see how losing to an unranked UGA team helps our cause. But go tell yourself what you have to. Until we start getting it done instate, we will never be on the National level.

You want more evidence? Go look at our recent history and name me ANYTIME that we lost to UGA, yet were on the national scene? Never. When we were on the National scene we beat UGA. End of discussion.

After 4 yrs we NEED to beat uga.If you live in-state you live it.If out of state ,you need to understand it.
now that we are recruiting Ga again big it is IMPERATIVE.What does it mean if we actually win the ACC (very questionable) if we can't beat a weak doggie team.

Orange Bowl win = 10000000x more value than UGA game and it always will....

FSU won the ACC Championship last year in a great year for the ACC and that win went almost completely unnoticed because they got spanked by UF the week before. Winning the ACCC means little if we win the conference Championship of the 5th best conference but can't even beat a 4-4 SEC Ugag team.

Lastly, if GT goes to Jacksonville coming off a loss to UGA for the sixth year in a row, the team will mentally be beat and will not only be an underdog going to Jacksonville but will have a very difficult time winning that game.

College football, more than most sports, is not played in a vacuum. Mental and emotional baggage play huge roles and getting beat by the state flagship having a down year for the sixth year in a row would likely mean no ACC Champion for GT.

The UGA game matters slightly less than usual becuase of the reasons Dust Jacket mentions but he is swinging the pendulum much too far. I assume he doesn't really believe what he is saying but is just trying to prepare himself for the worst.

Dust Jacket is just enjoying himself for the sake of stirring the pot.

Regarding your post, the uga game is even more important this year than it has been since 1990.
Before anyone blows up, listen:

We all know how important '90 was. It should have put us in a major bowl, but it allowed us to hold onto title hopes. No discussion needed.

The '98 game didn't mean as much because of our earlier loss to Wake. No major bowl berth was on the line.

In no game since '90 has our national reputation been on the line like this one. Not because of top 5 or top 10 prestige, but because we will be in the OB with a win the next week.
By beating uga, everything would be cool. By losing in Athens, we will be playing for the conference title as a deservedly unranked team.
I don't care for our membership in this league, but what a black eye for the conference that would be, not to mention how the OB would feel about its reputation. As BOR pointed out, last year's Orange Bowl was a farce. The only storyline was Bowden/Paterno.

This may not mean much to some on here, but the league championship game and the OB would be tainted if we don't win in Athens. That's the way it is.
The auto tie ins are great for highly ranked teams, but look for last year's BCS bowl participation rules to grow sharper teeth if the BCS conference winners don't get with the program.

At least the acc officiating crew will be on our side big time in athens. Unless we win up there, expect to see Va Tech game officiating in jax. I could see their point.

Dusty,

You are in no way a Tech fan. THWG!

I would rather go 1-11 and beat jawja than 10-1 with a loss to them.

 Tech beating UGA always is. always was, and always will be of utmost importance.................MAN LAW:D

In this day and age, compared to the ACC Championship and the Orange Bowl, the UGA game aint ****... learn to live with it. This aint the 50s...

You guys are worshipping UGA like they sit on a pedestal.. They dont. Their fans are freaking hayseeds and their athletes arent too bright. They are nothing but a freaking 'W' in our column and I wouldnt care if they disbanded their football program. I dont live for the UGA game each year and never will.. ESPECIALLY a .500 uga team...

Orange Bowl win = 10000000x more value than UGA game and it always will..

Consider the dead horse resurrected.
OK-- you are officially nominated for the " get the f--k out of here award" . Depressing, depressing, depressing - lose to UGAG and listen to " with a few breaks we could have been SEC champs" for a year! Consider the recruiting implications-- moms from Georgia want their boys to play for a winner!!!

I have avoided this thread until now.

I have one thing to say:

UGA must die.

I agree with about 95% of the replies on this post. So, I concur.....

MAN LAW!

It goes without saying. Duke is in front of us for now, but come the final ticks of the clock against Duke, it comes down to defeating UGA. There's even more emphasis this year simply because it's time, it's time to end this five year streak, a streak that could have been ended two years ago and should have been ended last year.

And not only is it time to end this streak, it's time that GT went on a streak of their own. '98-'00 was the longest GT streak in my lifetime and I'm ready for one to top that over the next few years.

Ah, but first things first.

Orange Bowls Come And Go

But it is our holy mission to beat Athens Correctional Facility SO BAD they give up football and stick to girl sports.

Well, I want to beat ugag in every sport we play...but that's just dumb. Going 1-11 with a win over ugag should get a coach fired every time.
