Early in the season, we're going to demolish a good team

I have a feeling we're just going to flat-out embarass somebody very early in the year. Maybe it's Miami, maybe FSU or VT, but some team is going to spend all off-season studying last year's game film only to come to the realization that we've gotten much better in executing our offense.

Just wait, we're going to woodshed somebody. Guaranteed.

I agree Ish. We will probably be executing even faster than we did during the miami game. Clemson or VT will come in expecting the same speed they saw last year only to realize we are going 2x faster. Should be interesting to watch.

Edit: Someone should suggest to our opponents that they should watch last year's game film in 2x fast forward mode. That should help the get a better idea of how to prepare for us!

I have a feeling both Miami and Clemson will be close. I want to kick the pants off either VT or UNC though. And I feel sorry for UVA. We win that one by 40.

I agree that Miami and Clemson may be closer than we all like to think it will be. For one, Clemson is always a close game - and we could have lost year if not for 6 turnovers... I'm not sure why we didn't click that game. Regardless, I think we win these games, but they'll only be close because both Clemson and Miami have potentially dangerous offenses as well.

Agree with you. The best scenario is that VPISU somehow beats Bama, and we embarass the Hokies.

I have a feeling we will demolish more than one opp. this year.

I think we demolish Clemson early.

I think we continue our dominance of the U for the fifth year in a row. Their defensive speed will be their downfall as overpursuit and overeagerness to avenge last year hamstring their defense. They dont seem to bank on much of a running game offensively and our strong point is our DB corps. And they changed OC and DC... again.. we will hang 38 on em and they will be lucky to see 14

I expect to average 30+ PPG, unfortunately I think our defense will take a step back. I think our ACC games will end up 38-28 ish instead of 20-17.

FYI, last year we had 26.2 ppg on offense, and gave up 18.8

I have a feeling that it will be VT.

They saw us last year, at home, running at essentially half speed.

Now we have them at home, running at full speed, and they *appear* to have taken a step back on defense.

I think we continue to dominate UM as well. IMO Shannon is a lost puppy.

I hope they unleash a rage never before seen at The Flats and everywhere they go this year on EVERY team. I hope they remember the Peach Bowl from last year and run all over the opponent from Jack St. to U[sic]GA and everyone in between. Hold no prisoners!

(Little pumped today. Just bought the season tix and can't wait for kickoff!)

Virginia Tech.

If they do beat Alabama, I wouldn't be surprised if they were 6-0 up to us and perhaps even #1 in the ranks.

I think Clemson goes down hard. They lost a lot on D last year - both DT's and both S's - but their LB's will be stout. DT's and S's are keys in stopping our option attack. If they're young at those positions, and early in the year, it could be a very long day for them.

Offensively, they have to find a QB who can get it done. Spiller will be the main man this year, and will get his yards. The OL was horrible last year, and has to make a big step up this fall. Catching them early, before a QB develops, too, will be a big plus.

They may be a very good team by season's end, but the second week of the season, with all we have returning on O, I expect us to put a mammoth beat down on them.

Clemson is coached by Dabo Swinney. Just like last year, they'll be happy to make a bowl game.

Question about Clemson last year... Why was Spiller absent?

James Davis.... and he was mildly injured for a good part of the season if memory serves

Clemson & Miami will be tough to be sure. TWO back to back Thursday night games will have repercussions on our team, especially since the 2nd will be down in Miami. Both those teams are gunning for us, especially Miami.

I'd be VERY happy with one point victories over both.

I hope you're right about UVa. We're way overdue for a road win against those jokers. A good beatdown would help exorcise some demons.

I think Clemson goes down hard. CPJ will go easy on Miami. FSU worries me.

Very doubtful. Even if they beat Bama, they won't jump Texas, USC, OU, or Florida.... voters still doubt the ACC (probably b/c of poor showings in bowl games) The ACC needs to make major splashes and upsets in order to be thought of on the level of the SEC and Big 12. Right now we're considered one of the second tier BCS schools.

Honestly I think we're third behind the SEC and Big 12 (as far as elite teams go and chances to win the title ... although we are by far the deepest) but the media and national thought probably has us at 5th ahead of the Big East.
