The selection of Gailey as our coach will always mistify me...
While he was, is, and always will be a class individual offensively our football team went backwards philosophically.
We had an avante-garde offense with multiple sets and options that created an exciting brand of football to watch and also to promote...
When Freidgen left and then O'leary the athletic department decided to choose a coach who taught an antequated offense that was non-inspirational and down right boring...
while the win totals are not that much different the excitement level has been worlds apart...
I believe that the offense coach Johnson will bring to our team will reignite the excitement that so many of us enjoyed week to week in the late 90's...
Win or lose I want our team to be exciting, to improve from game 1 to game 12-13 and to have the opportunity to compete week to week.
I agree...but in Gailey's defense he played the type of football that gave us the best chance to win. Since he could not coach up or recruit talented QB's he had to play time consuming/field position football.
In the late 90's we had to score a lot of points because we could not stop anybody. There was urgency to score on every drive when Roof was the DC.
I agree though, if I had to choose 7 wins with Gailey or 7 wins with O'Leary, I would atleast want it to be exciting.
