I'm pleased to know that we have posters with more knowledge about hiring coaches than our athletic director.

Could you explain how this process has been a rubber stamp? Which of the interviews have been fake?

BTW--my grandmother doesn't believe we landed on the moon either.

Gt will become officially the 1st ACC or SEC team to hire an ex-player as permanent head football coach from their in-state ARCH rival, not just a rival but in-state ARCH rival.

I've heard that BS, well Dooley was an Auburn Grad, BIG difference, Auburn is not their in-state ARCH rival, Last I checked Gt was. Of course these last 7 year's some would debate that. I guess this hire officially declares, we have given up, if you can't beat em hire em. :wow:

That statement would only be true if we hired someone currently on their staff. He's never coached there. Had an opportunity to, but turned them down.
 
So what if we're the first. Who cares?

If the man responsible for making the hire and laying his career on the line in the process thinks WM is the best candidate, the I'm behind him. I hope these ridiculous tirades stop once the hire is made. We all need to get behind the coach, whoever he is.

WM is not my first choice and not because he is a mutt. I don't believe him to be a bad hire, I just think there is a better candidate. However if he is the hire I will support him 150%!

You need to go over to the Auburn and Alabama boards from last night, it was discussed, Oliver was INTERM head coach...They discussed this same situation and said, no way in Hades they would hire an ex-player from their own IN-STATE ARCH rival.
 
I suppose this is one way to re-energize the fan base. Move from old boring coach half the fans don't want to young firey coach that half the fans don't want.

I bet when Bobby Bowden retires, F$U would love to have Mark Richt back as a head coach. But wait! He played at Miami! They can't do that!
 
Not hiring someone based solely on where they went to school is not only stupid, it's possibly illegal.
