Tall guy in the MJ mold. Happy to see him with us went to HS with Burnett.
Projects as a DE.

Since we only signed 2 defensive lineman this year I was pretty worried about depth, but man we've already got 3 for 2009. Add a couple more and we'll be set.

Yeah, that was a real nail baiter waiting for this one star's commitment. I guess he's another we can develop.

Yeah. Immediately run to the star rankings to evaluate the kid. And then realize he hasn't been evaluated yet.

Congrats, you have officially been given the douche bag of the week award for your incredibly stupid commentary. Lanier is already a top 150 player, Drew we be a 4 star DT and Dieke is probably no worse than a 3 star DE. None of them have been evaluated yet. Congrats on being a douche bag.

Even if he WAS a one-start recruit, you should never be upset that a young man wants to come play football for GT.

Great post bor. And couldnt agree with you more gtroy.if the staff thinks he deserves a scholarship he desreves one. Even though he is likely to be a four star.

Somebody archive that post - it will be interesting to see the magnitude of the stupidity of it in 3 or 4 years.

Question for those who know the answer to recruiting oddities:

North Clayton (and the rest of Clayton County) is expected to loose it's accreditation in September, will that impact our ability to sign this guy?

it's stupid right now!! if you have ANY clue about recruiting you know that everyone starts as a one star before they're evaluated.

You guys keep forgetting that Paul Johnson is an idiot with a gimmecky offense and who cannot evaluate talent! God help us!:laugher:

AEROMECH,

That, sadly, is the real question here isn't it.

Wonder how many more will be in this position.

If not accredited, will a youngster be able to take some other qualifying exam, or something like that?

If an entire school system fails to be accredited, wouldn't that set up that county and the state for massive lawsuits? I can't believe they can allow an entire system's students to not be eligible for a hs diploma or to attend college.

I assume one of three thigns will happen:

he'll transfer before football season to a non-clayton county school.

he'll transfer after football season to a non-clayton county school

Or

Clayton county will clean house and get their accredidation back by then.

Lots of college prospects are looking at transferring out of the hood known as Calyton county right now so he may be one of them.

Interesting if we can create a pipeline to GT from North Clayton (where a former Uga player and a stud UGA QB's dad are coaches)

Perhaps a North Clayton QB will be leading the Jackets next September.

Believe you can still get into college if your HS was not accredited. The big issue right now is that if you graduate from a non-accredited HS in GA, you are not eligible for the HOPE scholarship...

Oh yeah, sounds like another great pickup!
