Emmanuel Johnson- Transferring

Dad said it, rower believes it, that settles it.

This is completely unrelated, but I was reading about this concept called rationalization. It's fascinating.

Wait, so your argument now that we shouldn’t believe what his dad said? Now I’m interested.

Gleason didn't quit mid season. And players most certainly do get processed before spring. Not saying Gleason did though.

I don’t know the coaches or Gleason but I sure sure as hell know you don’t process a true frosh QB leaving you 2 on scholly plus a HS recruit.

And wouldn’t hate on Gleason at all for wanting to seek playing time elsewhere with a guy in his same class starting every game this year.

Of course, I guess applying any common sense to a situation is now “speculating.”

Yeah like I said I don't believe Gleason got processed. Timing definitely isn't right in his scenario. Just pointing out that he didn't quit mid-season, and that other players in other scenarios certainly do get processed at this time of year.

How was being skeptical about what a dad says ever not part of my argument?

I certainly wouldn't blindly accept it.

it doesn't make any sense to "process" a 1st year player who was a project all along, who has fantastic measurables but is just raw, who you just put a year's worth of S&C into, and who got 44 snaps last year.

you "process" kids (if you're going to do it) when their remaining potential is low or gone, options have been exhausted, they've been surpassed by younger players, etc.

none of that is the case with EJ.
This is entirely hypothetical.

You are that convinced nobody could ever tell that a player, particularly a tweener project, wasnt going to be worth the effort after six months hands on?

You don't think we would cut bait quickly if it was obvious?

We're talking about Emmanuel Johnson, not some figment of your imagination.

I was not surprised Gleason would look at other alternatives once Sims was established as the starter. I was surprised he chose Toledo. I thought he would have better alternatives. However there are a lot of QB;s still in the portal.

Is this thread being hidden from the main page? Why?

Anyways, doesn't seem like a processing, seems like EJ didn't want to play inside after being given the option.

I was under the impression scholarships aren't able to be taken away for athletic performance- perhaps I am naive to believe that is the case.

Parents who disparage their kid's coaches on social media are being incredibly selfish. They're putting their desire to vent over the best interests of the kid.

It's also weird they're calling it a "family" decision and always have seems like.

You're probably ignoring the OP. I don't blame you.

This thread sounds like that bible story about worry so much about the lost sheep that the ones you have in hand run away.

Neither of these guys is a program changer. Good luck to them and thanks for giving us a shot.

I think that's the worst interpretation of the parable of the lost sheep that I've ever heard.

I am not religious, grade me on a curve. The only Bible story I remember is Zykist up in the tree because we had it in Sunday school every 3rd week.

D+ to about a B- (I went to Tech)

We get somebody else from anywhere and it is "OMG the second coming" of whoever.

We lose somebody we can replace next year and it is "OMG what will be do?"

We could have people who are not planning on going anywhere pretend they are leaving so we can be so much more excited about them being here.
