ESPN 360 Broadcast

More people watch college football than the Olympics - at least online when there's no TV viewing.

Oops, meant world cup.

It was probably hit pretty during the workday (when i was watching). Plus, it was 2 years ago.

what did they say right before "when you say Budweiser, you've said it all"

I take back anything positive I've said about 360. It's still crap. Maybe I'll watch it tomorrow when no one else is trying. Right now I've resorted to listening to FM and watching the Gamecast updates.

We gave up watching it during the game and listened to Wes, but I wanted to come home and watch it and it looks like it disappared from ESPN360. I thought it would be in the replay section.

Does anyone know where we can watch it? Or do I have to wait for it to show up there?

Had the same problems as all of you guys did with the freezing and poor quality. Quite relieving since I thought it was a problem with my computer.

I created an account for stingtalk members. PM me if you want it...

verified working as of this posting time.

One thing that probably made a significant difference is that this is the first night of CFB on ESPN360 since ESPN made it free to all .edu and .mil addresses... it wouldn't surprise me if they had 10x the traffic of previous seasons with the colleges on board. Here's hoping it's fixed (or at least improved) for next week.

The Olympic netcasts from NBC were done entirely differently... since NBC did a partnership with MS's Limelight, the method is very different. Limelight has agreements with a ton of various ISPs, including all the big boys (Comcast, TWC, Verizon, etc) for either co-location or some other direct connection. Basically, when feeding the video from Limelight, the bandwidth is used from your local machine to the ISP, but at that point it routes off differently and never goes onto the "main" internet routing. Completely took away most of the lag - huge difference.

naturally, it's working flawlessly today...

it's obviously some sort of pro-uga scheme espn has to everyone can watch how awesome they are. the ajc was probably behind it not working thursday!
