I wont be surprised if we don't come out the first drive and pass 90% of the time... then for the rest of the game have less than 5 throws total.
Worked well against Miami!

You guys realize that the run and shoot offense is almost the exact same formation as our current offense except the A-backs are lined out about 4 yards farther out instead of just outside the tackles.

I assume that is exactly why he likes the run and shoot, is he can run both it and the veers from the flex. Did he start with the run and shoot in Hawaii, and add the triple option plays later, or did he start with the triple options and move into the run and shoot as a counter to a defense that is covering the veers consistently? And do you realize that the whole point of this offense is to run the 'run and shoot' package without making any alignment adjustments at all?
That's what makes it deadly. We spread our A backs into the slot by spreading our linemen out, then run both offenses out of the same formation or sets of formations. From PJ's perspective, we're already aligned in the run and shoot.

This is about as meaningful as Miami fans claiming they will stop GT easily because they stopped Nebraska a couple times in the 90's.All those years of watching the Falcons under Jerry Glanville and June Jones... I'm sorry, but the phrase "run and shoot" makes me cringe. I know things are different at the pro level, and this is college ball. But still.

I know, I know. It's just that the phrase conjurs up images of sucky Falcons games. I'm not saying it won't work for CPJ. I expect it will. It's just going to take quite a bit of mouthwash to get the taste out. This is about as meaningful as Miami fans claiming they will stop GT easily because they stopped Nebraska a couple times in the 90's.
It's not a gimmick.. Its nothing new. Its just part of the package. Go back and watch Georgia Southern's first National Championship game against Furman. I believe Tracy Ham threw for 400+ yards in that game.
I think it's more about the OL blocking assignments and the quality and timing of routes at this point.
