ESPN Classic

I wish I could have seen the 2006 WIN over NC State because that was a big win that season. Like I said, the week later we beat UNC 7-0 to win the Coastal. Reggie played a bad first half, but redeemed himself in the 2nd to lead us to the win.

As I recall, that 2006 game was not televised (except maybe on ESPNU or something), so I listened to Wes on the internet while I cleaned the bathroom.

GREAT win.

and the original poster Crypto may have got his years confused, but we WON in 2006 and lost in 2005
I didn't say we lost in 06, I just said if they put a GT game on TV I'm gonna watch it regardless. For some reason the replies in this thread were stuck on 2005. tough loss..

It was on liberty mutual channel or raycom, whatever it is called, I watched it.

He should have hung on to it though, for sure. For all of Calvin's great ability, he did have a habit of dropping passes that he should have caught. It wasn't often, but it happened.
If it didn't happen often, then it wasn't a habit. Everybody drops a pass sometimes, it's just that when Calvin did we were so shocked it stuck with us. He did NOT have a habit of dropping balls.

2006 was on The U. I watched it at a bar originally. Reggie wasn't any better a passer the second time around.

I realize we won in 06 too. Just the '05 game still gets into my craw to this day.

And no, we should have never ever passed the ball in that situation - I don't care if Calvin was there or not. Terrible play call. First and goal on the two yard line with PJ Daniels and Mike Cox in the backfield and a timeout in your pocket is NOT a passing situation, especially when Reggie had just gashed the D for a big run and the clock had stopped for the first down. ENTIRELY different situation from the Clemson game. You run straight behind Cox, McManus and Tuminello and win the game.
