This actually worries me alot. We were on the right side of more then a few close games last season. I hope he's letting the players know this. Some of these kids may let all this preseason junk go to their heads, and we don't need that.

I laughed so hard when I heard that! "Stinkwich" haha. I hated how they didn't bring up our four national championships when they brought up UGA's 2... They said we got 2 ACC championships and been to 12 straight bowl games...
 
Big surprise on best player...only one tech player (CJ) was listed on the survey shown on screen.

What was accomplished last season?!?!? We beat UGA. That is bout it. These players are hungry for a championship and they also want to win a bowl game because none of them have. There is no reason to get all frantic.

What was accomplished last season was a team picked to win 3 games ended up winning 9, and was on the doorstep of an ACCCG appearance. AK makes a good point, and I hope the players realize that preparation and a disciplined worth ethic is what will have us on the good side of these close games this season.

I think you're right about them being hungry, but its still a valid concern.

I get the concern about the hype being excessive. He is trying to lower expectations while promising improvement at the same time. That's tough to pull off.

But it seems we have a unique opportunity next year with returning talent. In theory, we should get better as Johnson recruits players for his system. In practice, we lucked into having a few existing players with talent that fit the system pretty well.

I am hoping Johnson's caution that a better team doesn't necessarily mean a better record is just hype control.

I'm hoping he's just being honest. Because it's true, that a better team doesn't always mean more wins. He doesn't seem like the type that really enjoys the "coach speak" bull****, he's going to speak his mind.

As for last seasons accomplishments, I'd say that beating FSU for the first time in forever was pretty nice. So was running for a quarter mile against Miami. And ending the Gailey curse has given me joy for the last 8 months.

I'm still worried though. I worry that Josh will get hurt and I worry that our D-Line won't be able to save us like they did a few times last season. I worry that some of the teams we are playing this year will live up to their hype and we won't.
 
All I'm saying is that if you have been around CPJ you would know that he is a perfectionist. He will let his team know last season was just that and also the goals they set out were not accomplished. He will have each and every player mentally and physically prepared for each game and inbeded in their mind that this season is a championship season and they need to play like it every game. That was my reason saying not to get all frantic.
