UGAg is number one...

But the thing that surprises me is UVA at 21

how is UVA 21???

So, Clemson (at #9) and Va Tech (at #11) are out of the conference now?

(I kid because I care. I often overlook the Tigers and Hokies, too.)

GO JACKETS!!

Georgia state lawmakers are now threatening to blackmail espn by not allowing them to be broadcast in the state unless UGA is #1 and all other rankings are assigned to increase their own hubris - so every SEC is ranked and no ACC teams will be allowed except totally arbitrary assignments to keep up appearances.

I don't put much faith in anyone who still has OSU in the top 5.

When are people gonna learn?

UGA ranking is right on the money. Virginia Tech is seriously underrated. They should be right up in the top 5. Virginia is probably about right. Maybe 3 points higher. Clemson is way, way overrated. Shouldn't even be ranked.

Clemson overrated? I know we beat them last year but we could have easily lost if they had had a kicker that was any good. Maybe you forgot how they killed us two years ago and they still have two GREAT running backs. That can carry a team a long way.

I agree that UGAg is loaded and deserves real consideration for that top spot (as much as I hate to say it... Makes beating them next year so much sweeter). I also agree that VT is underrated but not by that much. UVA shouldn't even be in the equation. They are basically losing everyone on that team that made them any good. They are not ready to reload, either. Clemson is ALWAYS overrated in my opinion because they ALWAYS find a way to screw up.

Just my two cents.

How many of the teams on that list do you seriously think we match up well with and could beat?

That's a good point but the preseaon the rankings are based mainly on pure talent. I am sure that Clemson will screw next season up just like you said they do every year, but they do have a lot of talent.

How is UG overrated. They finished what 3 or 4 and everyone is back. Plus Moreno may be the best back in the nation. I want them to be number one when we beat them or Vandy beats them. The fall is that much sweeter. MR will blow at least one close game. I hope to us.

I hope we beat the crap out of them. But I will take a close win.

Actually, they're down to one. James Davis bolted for the draft.

EDIT: Nevermind. I see he changed his mind and returned to Clemson.

Also on Clemson, they bring back almost everyone. Their biggest question mark this year will be the OL as they lost four starters. They also lose a starting DE and LB as well as a few other players sprinkled around (no one of huge impact I don't think).

I agree they are a top 10 team, they are not number 1 and they will lost at least 2 games

I agree they are a top 10 team, they are not number 1 and they could lose at least 2 games in September.

Fixed.

@ South Carolina (9/13)
@ Arizona State (9/20)
vs Alabama (9/27)

Follow that up with Tennessee, @ LSU, and the Florida revenge game in October, and the Mutts could be as bad as 3-6 going into November.

November isn't a slouch either, as they have to play @ Kentucky, @ Auburn, and Tech.

You could argue that UGAg has the toughest schedule in the nation. There are 9 very losable games. If they can run that table, they deserve to be #1.*

(*Disclaimer: No way that will happen, so I'm comfortable saying that.)

I also think UGA is overrated. There was nothing impressive enough last year to be number 1. Their two big wins were Florida with an injured Tebow and Auburn. Past those two wins, they got wins against merely decent teams and got annihilated against Tennessee. Hawaii actually had a number of very close wins against very bad competition. They just got what was coming to them. That resume is good for top 10 maybe, but not number 1.
