ESPN preseason rankings

That's the toughest schedule they have had in 50 years. cmr must be having nightmares. His best team ever with a chance to run the tables and it AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN! 9-3 tops could be 7-5

I love seeing UGA ranked #1 preseason, it means they're almost invariably set up for disappointment. Here's to Tech driving the nail in the coffin!

I'm going to be the voice of reason, but UGA was KILLING everybody by the end of last season and basically returned the entire team. Plus instead of Thomas Brown as backed up by Knowshon Moreno it's going to be Knowshon Moreno as backed up by Caleb King. That's a vicious backfield and the whole offensive line that really gelled by the end of the season is back.

They have a brutal schedule so the MNC will definitely be earned if they get there, but on paper that is a top 5 team.

On paper . . . they still have to play the games.

Then I am very proud of our defense for SHUTTING DOWN the (second, your leaving our TC) best back in the nation in our last meeting

Quite the shame that we couldn't do the same with the musclebound Webster that was backing him up.

Okay... Here is UGA's schedule copied from [sic]emdawgs.com. It's a bit presumptuous of them to inclued the SEC championship game, but whatever. Shall we start taking bets now on when they fall from No. 1? Would be hilarious if it happens on 9/13.

08/30/08 Georgia Southern Eagles
09/06/08 Central Michigan Chippewas
09/13/08 at South Carolina Gamecocks
09/20/08 at Arizona State Sun Devils
09/27/08 Alabama Crimson Tide
10/04/08 Open Date N/A
10/11/08 Tennessee Volunteers
10/18/08 Vanderbilt Commodores
10/25/08 at LSU Tigers
11/01/08 Florida Gators (Jacksonville, FL)
11/08/08 at Kentucky Wildcats
11/15/08 at Auburn Tigers
11/22/08 Open Date N/A
11/29/08 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
12/06/08 SEC Championship (Atlanta, GA)

Just for the record the schedule that was posted on here included the ACC Championship game. I think it's just for the date if nothing else.

They've got a tough schedule coming up...and plus, they blew it by beating UF last year. they should have waited till this year.

UGA may start the season #1, but no way they finish #1. Aside from their fairly tough schedule, they are not accustomed to being the favorite for every game and will certainly drop a minimum of 2 games. I would guess LSU @ Baton Rouge and UF. The gators own the pups. I think we will give them a good game, but UGA wins it by a field goal. We get them in '09.

I'd say we have a good chance at beating UGA after that murderous stretch. Too bad they get a week off first. Here's hoping that GSU pulls an App State.

I'd look for at least four losses for the nad-lickers next year. Losses to ASU, Bama, UF, and GT seems like a good-enough prediction.

Arizona State got WAXED by a poor Texas squad. Don't look for them to beat Georgia...even if they are at home.

Eh, I try not to use the bowls as too much of a measuring stick for the next year. Bowl season just seems like such an anomaly for some reason. That's why bowls are so hard to pick.

Arizona State is a good team on the rise, and they're well-coached. Georgia is probably the better team, but I like ASU at home in this one. Georgia will be riding high, and will be ripe for upset.

No way Georgia loses to A State.

GSU might have one of those "pants down" moments.
I seriously doubt they run the midseason gambit of Bama, UT, (vandy), LSU, UF without picking up minimum one loss, maybe two. Two keeps them out of the NC game, one may not if they close the season out.

I would love for Ga Southern to begin their misery, but in reality, they should be favored in every game but the trip to LSU. I would call them strong favorites in nine games, slight favorites against UF and UT, and a slight underdog against LSU.

There's no way they are going to the NC game.

You can't lose your last season game and still go, it's too ripe on the pollster's minds, even if you do beat an overrated SECw team right afterwards.

AM I RIGHT? THWG!

Look at LSU, (except they beat SECe)

Aside from their fairly tough schedule.....

"Fairly tough?" Seriously, they have a really tough schedule next year. I hate having to give the SEC credit, but ugag will probably have one of the toughest SOS in the country.

Just look at that schedule. How many would we lose?

It's definitely tough. You could very well be right in saying its one of the toughest.

gsu_paintballer,
thinks it would be easier to count the number of games we would WIN on that schedule ;)

You're right swill, the gators do own us.....beaten us 14 of the last 17 years....complete and total domination....
