Nice hit piece here from the Knoxville (Fake?) News Sentinel:

Even a child could see that the flexbone is limited.

“Daddy, why doesn’t Georgia Tech throw the ball more?” a young fan might ask.

“It prefers to run,” his dad says.

“But Tennessee does both,” the child points out. “Why doesn’t Georgia Tech?”

“You want a hot dog?” the dad responds.

Another gem:

"Playing catch-up can be as daunting as third-and-long when your passing game is functioning at an elementary level."

Meh. It's a troll fluff piece. Finding it hard to care.

2016 statistics

Yards per passing attempt:
GT 10.5 Tenn 8.2

Yards per rush:
GT 5.5 Tenn 5.2

Yards per catch:
GT 20.2 Tenn 13.0

Then again, I guess none of that matters if your D gives up 6 touchdowns+ to Vandy.

Total Yards - Defense

What were they saying again?

don't let the facts cloud a good tennessee opinion.

They have to get the local hillbilly population all riled up so when they lose they can begin trolling on the fire Butch Jones wagon. It's just good journalism.

3 things can happen when you throw the ball and two of them are bad.

I went to see Tennessee play Auburn in Knoxville when Kiffin was coaching. Tennessee had an early series where they ran the ball down the throat of Auburn for 6 or 7 plays down to the red zone, about the 15 yard line IIRC. Tennessee then proceeded, after success running the ball, to throw 3 incomplete passes in the red zone and miss a field goal. Auburn, running their version of an option offense, of course won the game.

It's rare that an article in the Knoxville News Sentinel that is negative isn't directed towards the Vols. Especially when it's coming from that clown John Adams.

Umm..you forgot to include the SEC constant in your maths....

So

Total Yards - Net

GT -25.9
Tenn -26.6 against SEC defenses and speed x 1000 = 26,600 yards for an ACC team

Half the fan base is already on the fire Butch Jones bandwagon. I am not in that half and I don't suspect I will be either around 11:30 pm on 9/4.

I'm using the new math, where ACC >>>>> SEC

Not much to report. They're over there ripping on John Adams and the Knoxville media too.

I mean I guess I could report that you guys keep talking about Vandy (a team that's beaten us 5 times in 35 years) likes it is cool. You guys crushed them, good for you. We played like dick and went from the Sugar Bowl to the Music City. You guys had a bad game or two last year I believe.

So getting embarrassed on national TV isn't enough?
