"It didn't seem like we had full support all the time by everybody". Those are highly encompassing words to use. Wasn't Nix the one signaling for Reggie to ground the ball on 3rd down against Ga & then not mentioning that it's now 4th dn & u've got to do something good with the ball???
Anyway, if Miami's OC thinks that he didn't get all-out full support from the GT crowd just wait til he finds out what happens to Hurricane coaches when they lose games that their masses think was winnable. Hardy-har-har-har!

Let's see...last year we averaged 50,617 fans a game in a 55,000 seat stadium. Conversely, University of Miami averaged 41,908 fans in a 72,319 seat stadium. I hope Nix enjoys Miami's far superior fan support.

EDIT: Having actually read the article, rather than just that quote...I don't think that is really a shot at Tech fans, but rather the Tech administration. I can kind of see where he's coming from, with what David Braine said and stuff...but it's still a lot of excuse making.

The U's fan support is terrible. He is going to get bashed like never before by those few fans also. Now I like Pat as a person, I worked with him for years. As a coach though he struggled especially with the QB progression then his silly play calls. He is trying to spin this to make it seem like he was limited, I know for a fact he was not. He's just trying to make himself look better. I think he has a little anger towards GT for what went down near the end of his time here. I dont think he lasts long in Miami.

After two years with Canes fans Nix will wish he was back with the crowd at BDS.

Haven't read it --don't care to --not at all concerned with anything Patrick Nix, the former Auburn QB, has to say.

"It didn't seem like we had full support all the time by everybody".

I wouldn't call that a "mean shot" at all. I'd call it accurate.

I didn't think his comments were THAT bad - but I still can't figure out why he didn't just say the standard coach speak line like "Thanks GT for the opportunity. Learned a lot and now want to apply it to UM. We have a ton of talent at UM and great fan support".

No need to take any shot at all at GT as I don't think it made him look good in doing it. Sounded like excuses and sour grapes. The FB coaching industry is too small to project either sour grapes or public excuses.

Exactly. And please tell me what coach has all the support of everybody all the time? If he's that sensitive, he'll never be a head coach.

I love the part where he talks about not wanting to play in the NFL. LOL get real dude! Auburn is not the pinnacle of the football world.

Nix wasn't going to be around this year whether he got another job or not.

Your right Adamni, he was gone regardless. Frankly everyone here had a good laugh about the article today!

I never heard people weeping when he decided to leave. I'm still trying to figure out why Miami actually hired that guy. Sounds like we got the better end of that deal. Who gives a crap what he says?

Plus, he went to Auburn...

Word was that not many OCs wanted to interview with Shannon, and since Nix kept beating him he figured he must be good.

"On leaving Georgia Tech to seek his own identity away from Yellow Jackets coach Chan Gailey, who was widely viewed as running the team’s offense even though Nix served as offensive coordinator last season: “For me and my career, I knew I had to separate from coach Gailey.""

Surprised this quote isn't earning the most attention.
