Ex OC Nix takes mean shots at GT fans

Yeah, I can see how he would feel that way. Chan was really limiting Nix by not stepping down from calling plays...

"On leaving Georgia Tech to seek his own identity away from Yellow Jackets coach Chan Gailey, who was widely viewed as running the team’s offense even though Nix served as offensive coordinator last season: “For me and my career, I knew I had to separate from coach Gailey.""

Surprised this quote isn't earning the most attention.

Sounds like the poor guy had no balls to go to Gailey and be a man and tell him it's his offense or I'm gone. I've seen it done many times but Patty couldn't do it. Hate that he had to spew some venom after he left.

That could be it, or it simply could be that no one wanted to believe it was really his offense. I mean, NIx said he called the shots, Gailey said he did, but many people still insisted on believing it was all Gailey.

The man is criminally stubborn so it's not a stretch of the imagine to believe he was still influencing the offense in a big way. I seem to recall reading that he was considering taking back the playcalling after Nix left.

All I know is the Offense practiced and looked a lot different in preseason practice with Coach John Bond than it did with Coach Nix.

Coach Nix obviously didn't appreciate the opportunity given to him at GT.

I've lost a lot of respect for him with his comments.

Some things should be left unsaid. Showed no class!

so, will gailey fully hand the reigns over to johnbond... or will he still assume a majority of the playcalling?

Gailey didn't do any of the playcalling last year. Nix is just spewing sour grapes because he wasn't going to be kept after last season.

Bond has total control of the offense, as Tenuta does of the defense.

But he also seems to stick to his word pretty well, so when he says he turned over control I would think he did. He did say he considered taking back the playcalling role. But he also then said he realized it would be a mistake.
