"On leaving Georgia Tech to seek his own identity away from Yellow Jackets coach Chan Gailey, who was widely viewed as running the team’s offense even though Nix served as offensive coordinator last season: “For me and my career, I knew I had to separate from coach Gailey.""
Surprised this quote isn't earning the most attention.
That could be it, or it simply could be that no one wanted to believe it was really his offense. I mean, NIx said he called the shots, Gailey said he did, but many people still insisted on believing it was all Gailey.
Gailey didn't do any of the playcalling last year. Nix is just spewing sour grapes because he wasn't going to be kept after last season.so, will gailey fully hand the reigns over to johnbond... or will he still assume a majority of the playcalling?
The man is criminally stubborn so it's not a stretch of the imagine to believe he was still influencing the offense in a big way. I seem to recall reading that he was considering taking back the playcalling after Nix left.
